The Thing was one of my favorite black and white old movies that we watched late on Friday nights. When the Kurt Russell version came out, it took me a while to get through it because it was so much more graphic. Don't worry though, I have seen it from beginning to end and am now able to sit calmly and watch the entire movie. I think a sequel would be great. By the way, did you know that the "Thing" in the first movie was played by James Arnes? Yep, Marshall Dillon played the Thing in his younger days!

Alphas would sound more interesting if Heroes weren't already on SyFy. I like Heroes until it seemed to go off-track and caused me to lose interest. I'll have to check out Alphas though, and hope for the best. Thanks for sharing this information.

When Stargate: Atlantis aired, I just couldn't get into the show. Stargate: Universe is a series is one that I hadn't heard about; guess I'll have to check it out and hope for a better entertainment experience.

Rodat may have to suck it up and create a partnership with others of his ilk simply because of the complexity of the Foundation. Should Rodat and/or other Hollywood producers and directors water down the Foundation, it will absolutely be an insult to Azimov and the intellence of his well-written series.

Wow, this is a great article! I certainly hope the publishers and booksellers are listening to what you've said here and now. It's so very difficult for a new author to arrange a book signing in their hometown with the large bookstores. I'm still trying to schedule one. The movie, Runaway with Tom Selleck, comes to mind. Even with robots to do the work, there is the human factor that these same robots will need to be repaired or captured and deactivated.
