This is one of the happiest days for my city that I can remember.
Mr. Dudley is one of the most kind hearted individuals I have ever met and he follows that with a love and passion for our city. Mayor Dudley has a lot of wonderful ideas for our city, we need to stay involved and pressure the council to be of a help in cleaning up the past 4 years of mistakes and lies.

I am so proud of you Oak Harbor.

Actually, if
you did not hear and observerve Skinner and Oliver standing in the back of the
room arms crossed huffing and puffing and making extremely rude comments,
perhaps you need hearing aids and glasses. Actions speak louder than your
remarks while hiding behind an anonymous screen name.

This is not
the first time this has happened, this rude behavior from these bullies happens
often.

Just a few
examples are Gerry Oliver’s countless online rants, Rick Almberg spreading lies
and malicious words about another candidate while attending a save the pool
meeting, Chris Skinners sound off column where he chose to attack a candidate
over hearsay and to ignore the documented lies of our current mayor.

Oh and don’t
forget when Chris Skinner ask the city to violate the constitution and tell
people that since they did not have his guys sign in their yard that we were in
violation of an unconstitutional ordinance and could not have the other guys
sign in their yard until two months prior to the general election.

Say what you
will not a person in this city believes you.

My full name is Christopher Shane Hoffmire; I have gone by Shane
my entire life since before I can even remember. It isn’t so much that I have a
fascination with random screen names as it’s that I have a problem with the hateful
and malicious comments people say while hiding behind them. I personally feel
that anonymity on the internet breeds hate. To each his own…. I guess. I will
continue to stand up for what I believe and I will put my name behind it.

I would like to wish Christine Cribb all the luck in the world. Her decision to volunteer comes at a time when schools nationwide face at best very stark budgets. The stakes for our future couldn't be higher, we need to come together as an entire community and share our ideas. I am sure if you believed what you said you wouldn't be hiding behind some random screen name. What tactics do you speak of? I am just a blue collar working stiff, with my only agenda being that Oak Harbor can again be the city I fell in love with many years ago.
I stand up for what I believe and what is best for my family and my beloved city.

I guess what you missed was while Slowik was talking Oak
Harbor elitist into opening up their pocket books to fund his campaign; Scott
Dudley was out going door to door meeting with every possible Citizen not
asking for money but just simply spreading a message of a brighter future for
Oak Harbor. Slowiks own words were he could not discredit the impact of a
personal visit by a candidate but he was too busy doing other things to give it the same effort. Wow now
that is a surprise, isn’t that how he led our city. Ignore the people because
after all catering to the special interest of his campaign supporters is all
that matters.

You and I both know that after election season comes to a
close Slowiks campaign report from the PDC will be exponentially higher. I also
believe that it will be by word of mouth not money that this campaign is won.

Oh and by the way it was pretty amusing seeing Skinner and Oliver get
shouted down by the crowd at the recent forum for being a political bully. I
hear rumor that if Gerry decides to throw his hat in the ring for a vacant seat
that ken schram has a file.
Like I said Rumor, I guess time will tell

Thanks for catching what was a blatant misrepresentation of the
truth. I strongly believe what I believe and was so disappointed to see that I
was misquoted. Hopefully it will bring to light that this entire piece was more of an advertorial
than actual facts.

They did attempt to correct their mistake in reporting a lack of the facts. I feel I deserve my view to be restated in the next print version. It was so heartbreaking to see what I feel so strongly about so blatantly misrepresented.

I am very disappointed and ask that the voters take a stand in telling the powers that be. We the people are well informed and we will not allow the wool to so easily be pulled over our eyes. Let it be of a united voice that we tell the incumbents we have seen enough.

That is not true, we are not thankful we are very angry about the lies and their inability to hear the public. The Whidbey News Times misquoted me / lied as they have others. I'm as against the one way as humanly possible as are others. But they lied just as they did with Mr Eaton as they said he was for a sewage treatment plant at city beach when that could not be further from the truth.

Please don't let the media mislead you here locally the same as the national media attempts to do. It is time for Oak Harbor to usher in a brighter future.

Just to be clear, the reporter really messed this one up. I am by no means a one way supporter, I hate the one way. I think it was the worst possible thing the city could have ever done downtown.
Two way was the only way.

What I said was that whether I was for or against the one way, I am against it and whether I have an ax to grind or not, I do but that ax to grind is not against the merchants. I said I felt that is why the people of Oak Harbor turned out at the ribbon cutting for a partially completed street, not because they like the one way but because they feel compelled to support the merchants that the one way debacle has been so crippling to.

That great faith I have in the electorate is that of a belief that we the people will have the merchants and the taxpayers backs and vote slowik out.

Please vote as every vote will be very important.

I know it is a touchy subject but the attack on public servants whom receive a relatively low compensation was unjust. Wait 3 more years and then the offices actions or inactions will speak volumes.

Thank you Mr. Bull for pointing out that our skipper was asleep at the helm.
So I will politely ask you the question. How many times can we allow our mayor to fall asleep on the job while we not you but we the taxpayers of Oak Harbor pay the cost of mistake after mistake.

I would also like to ask you how it is that our mayor takes accountability for anything when he just most recently was quoted as saying " I was well aware of the states recommendations on pioneer way, but I am not the one who engineered the project." He is the mayor how is that taking accountability for anything?

So while you stick up for one of your best friends whom you admit you won't be voting for; the rest of us will ask for accountability and we will vote for a mayor who instead will take accountability.

Vote slowik out please!
