Oh I didn't feel called out. I had a doubt about what I was saying but I clicked post anyway so when you asked I went a-searchin and found out my doubts were correct and I was misremembering the deal with SNAP. I'm glad to have the fact straight. I like being able to cite things with confidence.

I was under the impression that we cut it in order to appease deficit hawks to pass a UI extension. It turns out I was wrong. We cut SNAP benefits in order to continue funding school lunches. http://www.jta.org/news/art...

I spent literally hours looking through his portfolio and reading about his work. I can't wait to see one of them in person. I grew up in the hudson river valley so that style of landscape was everywhere. I loved seeing it used to this purpose.

Uh, chill out and then maybe come back and be less angry and perhaps a bit more understanding about why you might be shut out of this specific role. Once you’re there, it’s important to keep in mind that there are a lot of feminists who are wrong about a lot of things. If you think they are wrong about banning men from leadership positions, you can start your own organization where men are not excluded and then if people like it they will join. Or they won’t. Either way, just do your thing, be cool to everybody, and stop expecting people to let you in everywhere you want to go. Part of being a feminist dude is having to deal with getting shut out of places. If you really were an “it-getter” you’d get the importance of having (trans inclusive) woman-only spaces. They’re called “safe spaces.” Look them up. (NB: safe spaces aren’t really safe because of the fact that oppressions intersect and blah blah blah, that’s not my point.)

My point is that there is no “feminist movement.” There is no “feminism.” There are women and men who work towards alleviating inequalities that stem from cultural and systemic patriarchy. Seriously, nothing prohibits you from leading the “movement” except your own sense of entitlement. People follow leaders they believe in, yelling at them to follow you never… fucking… works.
