Dr. Piper, I am not dismissing that this tornado may have been from God. But I was just wondering why did God intervene here? How about the human trafficking throughout the United States including in Minneapolis? How about the outrageous human rights abuses including the labor camps in North Korea where in some camps only half live after one year?

Would be interested to hear your opinion on this. Thanks.

Really illuminating.

I think it's a matter of policy and PR. The policy is that it's a fairer tax system if the rich pay more which I believe because of all the deductions that are available which are often not for middle class and lower. I know my effective tax rate now is lower than when I was a single middle class guy.

The PR is that it sounds good if they claim one way to lower the deficit is to tax the rich more. I am sure the smart people in the White House recognize this. Also they capped deductions at 25% or 28% instead of letting people take the max rate. That actually could make a sizable difference.

How about rooting for the Raptors? Or the Heat? You've got to love Wade. Or the Magic? Howard's has to be one of the nicest guys in the league and he's a Xian.

I have had similar thoughts. I have been meaning on implementing levels on my blog and depending on what level you are, you get access to those articles. For example, I would like to make all my articles that are about the family only available to subscribers and the most personal ones only available to Ji Seon.

I have yet to implement this though. :-)

it bothers me too.
i knew obama is far left on abortion but this is even further.
i wonder if a letter writing campaign to him would make a difference. he did publicly say he wants to reduce the number of abortions.

Yes but if you ask such complicated questions, people like me won't understand them and more importantly people won't understand the answers. They're not litmus test questions which is what people want.
I wish I had seen it. I should look for it on the web.

this is fun

#1 really confused me.

i guess the way to look at is the guests have $3, the bellhop has $2 and the hotel has $25.

or the guests paid $9 each and the hotel paid $3 of which $2 went to the bellhop.

#2 you can only divide out (a-b) if (a-b) is not zero. however in this (a-b) is zero.

in other words 2/0 = 1/0 is true. :-)
