He wasn't the best (nor the worst) president, but he's done some amazing work out of office: Habitat, global health work, election monitoring and diplomacy in the Sudan, Bosnia, and Israel. And I don't see why he should just sit silently by in the world just because he's a former president. It's important in a democracy that differing views are heard, not only by us, but by the outside world.
But he's an idiot to think NK will give in through a single act of diplomacy. Kim is a megalomaniac dictator who thinks agreements are meaningless. I'd rather send Chris Hill to talk than thousands of troops to die, but I see diplomacy as a holding action to keep Kim from doing something stupid before he dies -not a solution.

Re: President Obama’s idea of change?

Obama would be the biggest idiot in the world if he were getting involved in this, unless he actively pushed for her to be deported. That said, I can easily imagine some foolish supporter working the system because he thinks he's helping Obama out.
I'm sure that once his aunt was identified in the media, the INS wants to pay extra careful attention to her case and make damn sure they have done everything perfectly.

As for the others you mention who were rejected: do you have any idea how many people apply for residency each year? And how many of those do you think are legit? Any time the government has to determine if a relationship is real or not, mistakes will be made and often.
