Doom 3 engine, weird puzzles and stuff, and short enough not to feel too drug out. I liked Jade Empire a lot. I'll be playing through Lost Planet real soon... Of course I played the console versions of all of these, but none of them are bad PC ports to my knowledge. Almost bought Tomb Raider myself actually.

Re: The Android Workshop Blog - Barney Frank Confronts Woman At Townhall Comparing...

Ugh, and there's so many of these people in the world. It makes my brain hurt. ;) I was just typing up a giant rant on the subject but I suppose for the same reasons that you don't usually post politic stuff I'll refrain.

Re: Moving Time

I can't imagine moving while I'm still gainfully employed... but who knows, maybe when I eventually lose this job I'll come live on your couch. ;) You have every reason in the world to go back and continue school. You've got a lot of talent man, you're a great artist - build up the portfolio and land an awesome job! Was awesome hanging with you! You gotta keep your blog, twitter, or something going so we can keep in touch.

Re: Pricing Gaming PC Components

I think there's a good possibility that the soundcard, or at least EAX, might not work too well under Vista or 7 - might want to research it if you haven't already. I'm sure any of those video cards would perform well enough for you though I'd probably for for the 275 myself. I was thinking if upgrading my current system to one of those actually, even though my old faithful 8800GTS/512MB runs everything just fine, the GTX275 is still like twice as fast (technically.) Looking good so far.

Re: Cheap External RAID Options

Hm, actually Amazon has it for much cheaper and has some reviews. No idea if its any good or not but it's only 25 bucks more than the original one. Doesn't have firewire though...

Re: Cheap External RAID Options

You can probably send it back without a hassle. I thought you wanted RAID-1? That enclosure says it only natively supports RIAD-0. Maybe it lets you configure it to see both disks as separate drives so that you can soft RAID them but that'd probably run like crap.

Re: HobotiX's Cardboard Box Laboratory - Just finished painting my succubus picture. It's a competent God of War clone. I'm not really sure why the it got such awful reviews - it may be a little rough around the edges here and there but it's actually very solid for the most part. I love this movie. It has it's share of flaws but it's my favorite Arthurian Legend film. I think it's probably the dark, moody tone of the film and the gritty, hardened look of the sets and costumes. The soundtrack is also quite good. It's true that the story does seem a bit fragmented but most Arthurian movies seem to try to focus on just particular parts of the story where as this one attempts to cram the whole thing into 140 minutes somehow. I'd probably give it more like 4/5 myself but that probably has a lot to do with being a big fan of the medieval and fantasy genres.

Re: The Android Workshop Blog - Childhood android best friend.
