And the center cannot hold. Greedy short-sightedness on the part of the few eventually (1) eliminates the market as fewer and fewer people can afford to pay for goods and services and (2) leads to revolution, beheadings, that sort of thing. Fools and their money.

The people are getting their "information" from media owned by the ultra-rich and from politicians who twist the truth and don't get called on it. So in reality, the people do NOT, in fact, know who and what sucks.

Then consider that taxes are used for services and infrastructure that benefit us all, and make everyone's success possible in the first place. As for the Fairness Doctrine, contrary to Limbaugh's lies, it only required that both sides be given equal time on the airwaves taxpayers of all political beliefs subsidize. How on earth would that not be fair?

Why is a tax-exempt religious institution "supporting" anyone in an election? Those are my tax dollars subsidizing them, so they have no business whatsoever picking sides. I hope KOAT follows up on this and that others concerned about Legacy Church's politicking from the pulpit will express their objections to the IRS.

When has anyone on this thread ever heard a religious extremist of any stripe speak ill of a prophet or god of his or her faith? Sure, extremists may act in opposition to such gods or prophets' teachings, but ALWAYS in their names.

I'm all for simple explanations, and completely agree that this discussion, in particular, is subpar from an evidence-based perspective alone, but ANY explanation requires facts, so doesn't it make sense we wait until a few more are in?

The First Amendment provides for freedom of speech. However, Supreme Court decisions interpreting it, which are the law of the land, absolutely limit the right. For example (and very relevant here), yelling, "Fire!" in a crowded theater is NOT protected speech.
