I've been experiencing these overheating issues sometimes for no reason. My guess it has more to do with a software bug than third-party apps.

I'm telling you from experience that an 18Gbps cable might not be enough. I know first hand as I had to upgrade my cable after experiencing lag with the remote. It's not just me either. Hundreds of other people have reported the exact same issue. Just like hundreds of people are reporting issues with their cable not being able to handle DV while upgrading to a 48Gbps cable fixes the issue. So maybe in theory, on paper, you don't need a 48Gbps cable, and maybe for some users 18Gbps is just fine, for others, me included, 48Gbps is the fix for issues related with DV on Apple TV.

Here is what I'm planning to buy:
- 1 AirTag. Just one because I don't have many items to track, but also because there will be third-party versions of this device which might end up costing less.
- The new Apple TV 4K. I use Apple TV for all my TV needs and I'm interested to see if the A12 in there brings significant improvements to the UI fluidity. Of course, I am buying it for the new remote as well. If the new Apple TV is not noticeably faster than my current one, I will return it but still buy the remote.

Not BS at all. There are literally hundreds of people who did just this to fix their issue, just like I did.
