This presentation is a must-see for anyone interested in the intersection of music and technology. It's got my vote.

Re: Enterprise sales leadership arrives at Little Bird with hire of Jessica Rickson

Congrats, Little Bird team! It's also important to note that this is for a week's worth of data. To get truly meaningful numbers, it would be important to trend this over a few weeks (before and after).

Re: New FB Comment System Analytics: Comparing TechCrunch.com Before and After The Switch

We purposefully tried to shy away from subjective ranking of comments. Besides, TC, Scoble and others have done a great job of covering that side of FB comments. It's hard for me to make a blanket "yes, comments are better / worse" statement without having the data to back it up. I get the feeling that FB comments will eliminate outlying comments in favor of more consistent conversations. In other words - less 4chan, more Quora. This statement is not based on data and simply are simply gut feeling-driven.

Re: New FB Comment System Analytics: Comparing TechCrunch.com Before and After The Switch

yeah, i really think there's a baking period that we haven't yet reached. Over time, I get the feeling that we'll see people conforming to this behavior much like they did with the news feed changes and so on. But again - time will tell.

Re: My thoughts on the 2010 Web Analytics Association Board of Directors Vote

Hey John,

It's a good problem to have, I guess :). Like I said in the article, sprawl can be insanely hard
to manage. Though you may get a little SEO bump - if being on many
sites doesn't directly relate to saving money, making revenue or
increasing customer satisfaction (ie - you're going to be there to
answer all the time), I think it can be more harmful than good.

Hope this helps!

Re: Web 2.0 EXPO 2009 Hightlights

Debbie,

Thanks for the kind words. A good PM needs to be in touch with clients more than most, if not all people in their startups. They need to be able to steer the ship in the right direction, while the CEO concentrates on funding, business development and so on. A killer team is a CEO and PM that knows how to communicate, and a PM and a dev team that know how to work together. I'm in complete agreement.

Re: Proof that speeding up websites improves online business

Thanks for the kind words, Nick. We're glad you liked the article. We're huge fans of independent benchmarks that show actionable results - everybody wins that way.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Zeus. A number of years ago, while working at Coradiant, I led an Interoperability Lab. I had the task of testing network taps and their behaviors under situations of extreme load. Coradiant owns the findings, but it turned out that Zeus could handle the most amount of load with the least amount of setup.

I've been a fan ever since.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Re: The Adobe and Omniture Acquisition: Some Predictions

Yep, you're right. Google could be a contender. I think Microsoft is the more likely of the two, given the failed Gatineau project, ex-Macromedia/Adobe executives at Microsoft, and the different markets that Microsoft is hoping to push Silverlight in.

Re: Testing the new Disqus comment system

We installed the same on our blog.
