FYI: The U.S. Chamber was opposed to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. However, since it is the law, the Chamber is working to reduce the law's costs and help businesses offer affordable health insurance coverage for employees. You can learn more here:

As a former Wisconsin resident who drove through the Zoo Interchange often, I have to disagree with your formulation of the project as an expansion. That interchange has been the source of congestion for sometime. The project should rectify this.

Wisconsin has built new roads in questionable locations--a four-lane going from Eau Claire to Superior--but the Zoo Interchange isn't a strong example.

The oil will be refined on the Gulf Coast because the refineries that are good at processing that type of oil are located there. The experience they have in refining Venezuelan crude--a heavy oil--can be applied to Canadian oil sands crude.

Staff administering the programs are a tiny component. To use Social Security as an example, in 2012 Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI)* spent $3.4 bil in administrative costs to pay out $637.9 bil. That's only 0.53%. Cutting adminstrative costs in half would safe some money, but it would be too small to address the seriousness of the problem.

I think a major technical challenge will be minimizing acceleration, by having a straight, well-built tunnel and for cars to speed up and slow down in a way that's comfortable for passengers.

While engineers work on that, I want policymakers to examine the regulatory system. The Hyperloop is a pie-in-the-sky example, but there are countless other infrastructure projects in the U.S. that get bogged down needlessly. I tried to use the Hyperloop to make a bigger point.

First, claiming I'm against all regulations is a straw man. Second, the Congressman and I both agree that making Congress the focal point and not leaving EPA to do its own thing is the better approach.

"Universal health care" is a bit nebulous. We actually have that in the U.S. It's called the emergency room, and it's not cost-effective. Weakening the employer-based system with taxes and mandates isn't the solution. Instead, give consumers more choices and incentivize them to make better health care decisions.

My point was exactly what I wrote. This massive, complicated law will require employers to spend time that could be used to innovate and serve customers to fill out paperwork.
