I am fairly certain that bikers do more than go to bars and honky tonks. It is clear what Susan Chapman thinks of bikers from this statement, but the bottom line is that a lot of out of town visitors came to Sarasota for the event and some of us, spent a great deal of money. I lived in Sarasota for two years but had to move further North to Tampa for work. So, I am familiar with Sarasota, the culture there and many of the high end restaurants and venues, such as Mozaic. In fact, I have eaten at many of them numerous times. Luckily for commissioner Chapman, I am not one to easily be offended or I may have been by her ridiculous statement. While I feel for Mr Anderson and any potential loss his business may experience as a result of an event such as this, there is also nothing preventing him from tailoring his menu to "suit the crowd" for a couple days. Rather than suffer, embrace the situation and celebrate it and you will prosper.

Thank you for the great tutorial Ollie. I'm curious though (being new to Laravel and the blade templating engine), how to tie this ACL system, not only into authorization for the routes, but use for dynamic presentation in views (i.e. for users in group x or with permission y, then show this menu or that button, etc). For example, if I have a list of posts and the logged in user is an admin, display a button to delete/hide an offensive post. Could you possibly point me to a solid approach on dynamically selecting components to show in a view based on this ACL approach?

If you warm the olive oil slightly, the garlic and onion flavors will infuse a bit deeper. Also, you could mash or use a garlic press for the garlic if you're lazy/in a rush. Sounds yummy, I'll have to try it out!
