I can get over the car being a mustang, I can get over the cars shapeshifting abilities (ugh) and I can possibly.....maybe get over the cheesy acting, but seeing those opposing red lights that only come on when the car is in \"attack mode\" really bothers me.
And did anyone else notice Justin Breuning said \"I play Mike Traceurs son....Michael Knight\". Since this is a preview of the show and produced by NBC, you would think somebody would have told him he was wrong and did a do-over before presenting it. I really really REALLY hate todays Hollywood.

Sorry to dissapoint but the new KITT doesnt have any turbo boost. It will have all kinds of other features tho like military satelite access and internet, etc...
Hopefully, this show will be a little more realistic and not have the car jumping over things. Also, you must realize that the car's manufacturer subsidizes the vehicle's costs in exchange for publicity, ie: being the \"star\" of the show. Pontiac currently doesn't make a hot rod car, but Ford does, so there you go. And maybe this time the car won't sound so gay.
The new Knightrider movie looks good but I didn't see David Hasslehoff in the sneek peek of the new KR film. I was hoping that the new Kitt will do toobo boost but I guess there not doing that and I don't know why because I loved that in the show I wish that my car can do toobo boost. I'm hoping that the new Kitt will still have the SPM from season 4 of KR.
I love the car. That it was going to be a koenig..but that would make it to \"here i am\". Then we have the part where it will race exotic cars and tuners, and they will think they can beat KITT but wont, I love when U dont See it Coming. Only thing, I Hope the voice works out....Wish they kept the old KITT VOICE..Mr Feeny from Boy Meets World...Plus he is a computer so he shouldnt die out since he is artificial intelligence.
I wish people will just get over the fact that new KITT it's a Mustang, not a Trans-Am. Christ, it's not like the producers are gonna change their mind now.

I don't see why the red scanner does not move from left to right and back again like it used to on the original. If I remember correctly, the opposing eye was once used on a second season episode of the original where KITT's CPU was removed from the car and tossed in the trash.
I agree with the one person who posted here...THEY DIDN'T GO WITH PONTIAC SO LET'S MOVE ON. It's obviously true that a lot of people are afraid of change and this is a prime example. Besides, would you keep your present Playstation 2/3 or Nintendo Wii or back to the Sega Genesis or old Nintendo game system.
As for the new voice of KITT...I like it, it sounds somewhat \"dark\" (like Optimus Prime). Ironically, if you remember, KARR (KITT's evil prototype)had a VERY similar voice-tone and I almost thought NBC was using the same voice for new KITT.
Having Peter Cullen (voice actor for Optimus Prime) voice KARR in the first season episode \"Trust Doesn't Rust\" was really memorable. I have to agree that the voice for the new KITT sounds kind of similar in tone.
I like it. I was the other person who never had a problem with the Mustang. And Will Arnett has just enough roughness and smarm to let you know this car can take care of itself. Or is it that the CPU is taking care of the car? But lets not get into a debate about the CPU being a separate entity from the car. :-)
I loved the original and this looks like it's going to be really good. I like the updates. What I have seen of the trailer the cast seems to be the same kind of \"team\" base the original had and I am happy they kept that concept from the original series. Unlike the New Bionic Woman which totally sucks.

I too was intrigued that they cast Will Arnett to be the new voice. Then I heard on this how flat he is. There was no inflection in his voice, as William Daniels did. But, it is just the preview, we shall see.

I am like SuperDave and intend to not judge until the airing on February 17. Although everyone says to get over the fact the car is not a GM product, I must say that it looks like GM missed a golden opportunity here to bring back an updated Tans-Am to market. Talk about not wanting to be competitive!
The clips I have seen of the car (the true star of Knight Rider in the past), show a lack of ingenuity on the part of the designers. Satellite link-up, wireless internet, etc... do not excite me as much as amazing driving does - they should only be a supplement to the car. We shall see if it lives up to the old show's \"One Man (and his car) Can Make A Difference.\"
I am kind of thinking though that I will end up always being an old school Knight Rider fan. If nothing else, a new generation will be looking to style their Mustangs after the new KITT since 82 T-top Crossfire 305 Trans-Ams are getting harder to find in good shape.

I seem to remember seeing a few \"Rear wheel drive\" vehicles coming out of GM. I saw \"Bumble Bee\" from Transformers go from being a VW years ago to being an unreleased Chevy Camero in the movie. Everyone making a stink about KITT being a Mustang... it all comes down to marketing. Ford was the first to the production studios to offer a semi affordable (base model), everyday car to be used. Same as what Pontiac did back in the eighties. GM gave Universal a bunch of Trans Ams back in 1981 before that new body style was even released for 1982-83. Ford did just that now. Released the GT500KR just about the time the new KR comes out. If Chevy had thought about it, they could have taken the new Camero (same used in Transformers) and done some minor body modification to make it the \"Unreleased\" 2010 Pontiac Trans Am. Hell, wait a few years after the Camero hits the dealers, and the Pontiac TA won't be far behind.
So as far as KITT being a Mustang. Talk to Universal and GM for not striking up a deal. If you don't like Fords, don't go get a Mustang and fix it up to look like the new KITT. If you want to make a 2010 KITT of your own, wait until the new Camero / Trans Am is released, and do some custom mods to give it a New Mellinium spin of K.I.T.T., show it to Universal, and make some cash.

I am happy to see that they have brought KR back from the ashes, but it would have been nice to wait another year and stick with something GM at least (Camaro). Even though these cars are a little weak, I would much rather see KITT as the newer GTO or solstice GXP. ANY mustang is just a slap in the face to all that is sacred and just.
On another note, I do think that the new voice of KITT works well and the newer style of scanner lights looks really good. Now if they could have used them all the time, that would have been even better.

I am upset also at the fact that the car is not a Pontiac. Why couldn't they use the GTO? I mean I know they stopped making those, but that would've been an alright car to use for the new KITT. I also agree about the red scanner in the front. It doesn't look right. They need to do something to the front end of the car to make it look better, and make it go straight from left to right instead of how they have it going. Why do they have to change all the good stuff?
I own a Pontiac Firebird TA and I think they should have had pontiac make a new car for the show. The car is a 2008 Mustang and it looks sick because of the old redisign look they did, but I would have rather seen the new Camaro redesigned for it!

Well....I'm glad to see the show back. I can care less about what car it is....IT'S BLACK!! I thought the new Dodge Charger would have been a good pick for KITT, but hey that's just my opinion. As far as the actor, I would really hate to see David trying to do it again. I played some old KR movies that had CAR in it and found the voices of the old CAR and the new KITT are similar, but there is a difference in the tone (darkness if you will). I will admitt the voice is a little softer than the last, but it's deeper and hell of a lot more confident. All in all, I think the CONTINUATION will be pretty good. I mean come on people......IT'S GOING TO BE IN HIGH DEFINITION!!!! YA BABY!!!! Can't wait, I'll have the DVR ready on the 17th.
This is the baddest looking car I have ever seen on a TV series. I have owned plenty of Mustangs and dusted every Pontiac that ever dared to pull with me from a light.
I will watch the show just to get a glimpse of that bad looking steed every week. NBC, you made the right choice with one tough looking Stang.

I'm sorry, but NBC's new incarnation of KR is going to be worse than TKR and KR2K combined. What were NBC thinking? KITT is a Trans Am like the General Lee is a Dodge Charger. Also, no Turbo Boost? Half the fun of the show was watching KITT jump through the side of a semi trailer or a brick wall. New KITT probably couldn't even make it through a wall, it doesn't even have the MBS, just some lame \"self healing\" capability. Well, I'm watching it now and I'm REALLY not impressed. Yes, we should try to focus more on the show rather than the car (which makes the show), but it's a bit difficult with all the blatent Ford placements thrown in my face! The car is ok, yeah whoo big sports car, but they could have used a sleeker car out in the market today (like a corvette even- it's at least a little longer, sleeker body w/ some character like the Trans-Am). Will Arnett would have been a MUCH better Kitt voice. The acting from everyone I'm not impressed w/ so far, maybe ok for the Australian guy. Hey, at least I tried to watch.
