Geez - I don’t see what the fuss is about! The kid is having fun, they’re barely in the water, he’s wearing protective gear AND his mom is jogging right next to him. Most of you commenters (especially the ones saying this isn't a big deal, or pointing fingers at the youths who had done NOTHING to deserve this type of treatment) have absolutely no idea what Denny's used to be - Sambo's. I remember as a kid in Savannah Georgia (and we're just talking about the early 70's here, not the 60's) going to Sambo's with my family and seeing the menu with this little African boy (named Sambo) plastered all over it, with his protruding belly and big cartoonish white lips - and wondering even as a kid why the restaurant was so racist. Some of you racists should check yourselves, and do some basic research before spouting your usual and tired soundbites.

The book "Blind Man's Bluff" discusses this in great detail (with a wealth of documentation and references), and most experts believe that the Scorpion was sunk by its own malfunctioning torpedo. Torpedoes in 1968 were known to have a high failure rate, and the internal power plants would fire up on their own (causing a "hot run" in the torpedo tube). It's believed that the Scorpion experienced a hot run in one of its forward tubes, so the crew jettisoned it - but it then swung around 180 degrees and struck the Scorpion, sending her to the bottom of the sea. RIP to the crews of the Thresher and Scorpion, from a diesel submarine veteran (USS Blueback, SS581).

You’ll have to submit some information about your company." Am I missing something? I even searched for "request advertiser status" on the page, and nothing comes up. Thanks.

How ironic - Sea World bashing "rogue" rescuers for trying to help a whale, when it's fairly common knowledge that SW routinely steals babies from Orcas to sell (at outrageous prices) to other locations. They even kill the mother at times. Stay classy, Sea World. Keep working on that PR nitemare.
