While that recommendation needs a spell check, that is good advice - do go to Downtown Renton and see for yourself.

See the free parking, litter-free streets, wide sidewalks, eclectic shops, fantastic restaurants, human scale buildings and friendly business owners. See the beautiful parks, the results of the successful graffiti control program and all the great things Renton has to offer, right here at your own front door.

@cockadoodledo, kindly name me a city, community or even neighborhood that hasn't been touched by gun violence. That's a nation-wide social problem, not a Renton problem.

If you still aren’t convinced, check http://southkingcountyscann... and you'll hear for yourself that this kind of unusual incident is quite rare and only occurs way past any sensible person's bedtime.

It must have been terrifying being 50 yards from that inferno. It was a frightening sight from the other side of the RTC campus where I was located. I was saddened to see all the lookie-loos running and driving towards the scene, that is so not helpful and, as the article pointed out, dangerous due to the toxic smoke.

I stayed home and listened to the scanners on line at http://southkingcountyscann... - good info and a lot safer, too.
