This is really sad. I used Everyblock all the time to learn about neighborhood events.
Our alderman used it regularly to respond to constituents. We even got a farmers market going two years ago because of an EB comment.

Ooo, the social networking interwebs never cease to amaze me. I bet it was totally weird to see yourself on a stranger's page!

The friend I attended the event with got a press release a couple days before, I'm guessing from DOD's PR peeps, and then I read about it on The Local Tourist and we decided to attend! I'm glad I did, because the whiskey, gin and tequila drinks were great. And I could not get enough of those little beet appetizers.
