Most of my Le Creusets are Marseille blue, so I'm going to look for a similar deep blue. (Which limits the model I can get, but I don't think I need the super high-tech pro model.)

I don't usually buy myself a major birthday present (maybe a book or an album), but I am planning a rather extravagant one for next year: I'm getting myself a damn KitchenAid mixer. (Although I'll be paying off this year's extravagant birthday present—I closed on a house about three weeks after my birthday—for the next thirty years.)

IMDB tells me "Everlong" was used in both Wolf of Wall Street (which I'm sure you knew but momentarily forgot) and Little Nicky (enough said).

Varsity Blues was a hilariously prominent part of my senior year. Like, everyone at my suburban Virginia nothing-like-Texas high school went to see it one weekend and we spent the rest of the semester shouting, "AH DON'T WANT YER LAHF" at each other and hating Jon Voight.

I've been sized by the pros at Intimacy and bought a few bras there, but since I live far from an Intimacy store now, I usually rebuy the same size and style from HerRoom.com, which has excellent fancy-ass bras for a bit less. And I often lean toward discontinued clearance colors so I can get the $100 bra for $50 or $60. But I've definitely paid $100 (for my strapless Chantelle), and it's worth it. The books need a proper bookcase.

I asked my mom once why she kept the bananas on top of the fridge (thinking...they stay fresher up there?) and she said it was because that's where her mother kept them. So I asked my grandmother, and she said when she and my grandfather first moved to the States, they had a really small kitchen. And that was the only space available for the bananas. But I still keep them on top of the fridge.

"Flu Season" is where the show really gelled for me, and it is my favorite Parks & Rec episode of all time (and possibly in my top 10 TV episodes ever, if I were to make such a list). More recently, "Leslie and Ron" made me cry like a small child. And as much as I love Leslie and Ben's wedding (the ghost of Li'l Sebastian!!), the earlier scene with Ethel Beavers reading Ben's testimony in the snow is so perfect.

I would argue that Bull Durham has one of the best sex scenes on film, and the whole movie is basically foreplay for it.

There needs to be a word for the sound you make after reading a name found on STFUParents aloud and realizing what it is. I suppose "yawp" is already taken, but that's kind of what it sounded like after I whispered "Tierrinee" to myself.

I have a baby cousin named Gheorghe, after his late grandfather. It's actually easy to tell people how to spell it—just add H after the G—but I don't envy that kid the future explanations. Unless he goes on vacation in Ukraine and then it'll be a piece of pie. (And it's easy for me to remember, as I used to have a coworker from Bulgaria whose name is Gueorgui. In the end, everyone is named George!)
