I wipe away the excess and it leaves a very similar effect as liquid glazes.

Re: How to make sharing your art EASY!

A great way to get Art out there is to donate, donate, donate! I primarily paint animals so I donate at least five paintings a year to animal related fundraisers for auctions, raffles or however they want to raise money for their cause. I also donate paintings to public places like hospitals, animal shelters etc.........the more people can see your art the better. AND....you feel good about helping others by giving back.

Re: 3 AWESOME things I was just reminded of…

I feel it's worth mentioning that there is a little known reason we sometimes procrastinate about getting out to our studios and painting. Our minds are hardwired to remember fearful events and those events are sent directly to our permanent memory while enjoyable events are not always stored. The reason is survival, we rely on our memory to keep us safe. When we aren't creating work we like or are learning something new that is difficult, we store that away as a negative or scary event, something to be wary of. When we create a great painting we are joyful and eager to repeat that experience. It helps to take the time to remember the good feelings, store them in your permanent memory also. The practice of remembering the good experiences will override the fear of failing or disappointment. The memory of success provides momentum. Momentum leads to creativity which leads to confidence and authenticity.

Re: Make your old art new

Thank you!! Here's a fair question for those that oppose gun reform. If a person is a responsible gun owner with the intention of using it for protection/sport, how do laws making it harder for dangerous people to acquire guns infringe on a person's rights? Many countries have very good common sense gun laws and their low gun violence records prove they work. All gun purchases should require training/education, licensing, waiting periods and thorough background checks. I don't think that's too much to ask to protect our children and families.

Re: Sheriff calls for leads on missing man

Has anyone thought of using search and rescue dogs....accurate and fast.

Re: Trial ordered in animal cruelty case - Journal of the San Juans

A National Animal Rights organization is looking into this case to bring it into the national spotlight. It is public record and can viewed by anyone. The case no. is 09-1-05009-8. It is available for all to see but be prepared, it will make you physically ill to read what this poor dog has gone through at the hands of a human being. SHAME on the person who did this and SHAME on the people who helped hide the facts. There is a special place in hell for all of you!

Re: San Juan man accused of cutting his dog's throat - Journal of the San Juans

What everyone needs to know is that our Animal Shelter will take any animal, large or small and find it a good home. Our shelter is a no kill shelter (which means they will not euthanize any animal unless it is the only humane resource available to end suffering or illness). The people at the shelter genuinely love animals, that's why they work there. They and the many volunteers that come weekly brush the cats, walk and exercise the dogs several times a day and take special needs animals home with them at night. People come in daily looking for a new friend to adopt and there are usually waiting lists of people who want to adopt a dog. This is an island of animal lovers, ask anyone on the street and they could tell you where to take an animal you don't want or they would know someone who would help. The shelter staff are happy to help, they understand the many circumstances that make a person decide to give up their pet and will welcome any animal. The sheriff has access to a special kennel at the shelter for an animal that needs to be brought in after hours and they can also find a veterinarian after hours for a wounded animal. Please use this valuable resource! I only wish Rory Wilcox had. Come visit the shelter, its a great place to spend some time and the animals would love your company!

Re: San Juan man accused of cutting his dog's throat - Journal of the San Juans

I am so saddened and disgusted to know this poor dog was so horribly abused. This man is a coward and a sick psychopath. I feel the family who tried to cover this up by suturing her wounds without anesthesia and with inappropriate surgical supplies should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The animal abuse laws clearly state this. I also feel the woman who risked her life to try and save the dog should be publicly honored for her bravery and compassion. She is a hero! As a community I feel we should all turn out at the at the arraignment on Friday to show our support for the dog and to stand up for our intolerance of violence to animals and all living creatures.
