The EX60 should be very popular, if expensive. It fits well in with that Swedes want.. also excellent towing figures, 2000 or 2400kgs.

Yes, Norway is in a way uniquely positioned for variable renewables.

But also remember that hydro is not infinitely flexible, it often can not ramp immeditately and has minimum flow limits etc.

Europe is connected, just not to a very large degree, especially Spain actually. It was one of the (minor) reasons for the blackout.

A few GWs of transmission is not enough for countries that peak at 20GW, and especially if we want to have capacity for tranmission through the entire continent. Its even doubtful if it will ever happen, its likely much cheaper to just build renewables closer and in abundance than building transmission today.

Tror faktiskt det är betydligt mer när det gäller LiIon - i alla fall om man inte super-snabbladdar. Har sett siffror långt över 90%.

If this is anything like the Swedish scheme based on the same EU money, its really for people that would never buy a new EV otherwise. Ie. it will probably not have THAT much effect, but who knows.

Thats the average, including cuntries that are farter from UK economically than the closer countries. Ie. it should be higher!

Yes, there needs to be a decoupling of battery size to C-rate. Generally it seems c-rates are only high for high-end cars. This need not be the case!

Sorry, Volvo, but why does this look like any other chinese electric car from most angles? For some reason the press images make it look good, but all videos of the actual car makes it look super-fugly. No idea what hey have accomplished here.

You do realize that Chinese cars in Sweden are not that cheap? Most of them are luxury expensive cars imo.

Not even eg. the MG4 is that cheap.

I honestly find EVs more common in the more rural parts where I live. And that is natural in way, they drive more and therefor has higher fuel costs to offset using an EV.

I think the current proposal is decent, to be honest. They have some corrections for families with kids, so at 2 kids for example it might work. Not sure about 0 kids familires, the income limit is fairly stiff then. I think it could have been very good if the limits were lifted only slightly, but I assume someone has calculated a suitable level.

Ja, tror det. Kolla lite electric trucker på YT. Han påstår att det går redan idag men det är nog knappt. Sällan de lastbilarna laddar mkt mer än 300kW i videorna, däremot har de ju typ platt laddkurva.

Charging speed, towing capability and V2L are common areas where European cars are lacking. Mostly fueled by the sub-par MEB platform.

Price is probably the biggest problem though, these EVs are both slightly worse, but still very expensive. Yes, ICE-cars are, too, but they can actually be had cheaper for a real econobox. There is just no such thing when it comes to EVs: The cheapest "new" (2024+) EV I can find in Sweden is a ORA funkycat, but its still 18.000 €, and I can find a petrol car for 13000 € that has no range or charging limitations at all. This skews EVs to really crappy at the low end, versus "almost as good" when we compare more expensive cars.

Honestly, glass ceramis are so crappy in comparison. Theyre not super-slow, but they are worse than induction. The big problem is how they stain.. in my experience they are impossible to clean whereas induction tops are super-easy to clean due to high heat that burns things in. I mean stuff do stick but its not etched into the surface as in an oven or ceramic top.

Its not really used in Sweden. We either have heaters with tanks (resistive or with a heat pump), or are connected to district heating basically. But instant has never been a thing here.
