John knows nothing about structural engineering, fire engineering or he wouldn't speaking about needing an investigation of how a building can collapse from fire. Sprinklers were not working, fires were not fought. The structure was unorthodox an enabled the cascading collapse. There was a long NIST investigation (didn't completely satisfy me) there were several others by engineering firms and one commissioned as part of depositions in a ConEd lawsuit...FDNY stated on 9/11 that the building would likely collapse. Seems to me that they experienced in such assessments. Planes didn't collapse the twin towers... fires weakened steel and floors then caused a runaway vertical avalanche. All has been completely explained and understood... But the truth nuts are science deniers

Thanks for picking up the ball and running with it. As one of the first FDL members the work of Jane became a first and frequent place to visit each day and I appreciated the work of many of the contributors and commenters who, frankly I miss and hope to see them return to SP... that is the ones who have not departed. This is of course the huge irony about the USA and the cognitive dissonance in play. We are a violent nation and kill wantonly around the world mostly for economic gain. We have a police force which takes the law in its hands constantly and kills suspects denying them even a chance for a trial. We've executed many innocent people and we allow people to die on the streets from lack of shelter, food or medical care. We slaughtered the indigenous people of North America and put their survivors into "camps" and dishonor the treaties we have signed. Americans are hypocrites of the highest order.
