As this is based on Visitations, will records and the correspondence of Emmanuel and his family, it can be reasonably assumed to be right. Emmanuel was not the son of the Rev. He married Catherine Browne daughter of Sir Valentine Browne 2nd Bt. of Mollahiffe, but was killed at the siege of Plymouth in 1643 during the Civil War in England. He had three sons and a daughter. (I can provide details.)

John was the son of John Downing (b. abt 1571 Lexham Norfolk d. 3 6 1629 bur. Lismore Cathedral) HJohn Sr. came to Ireland to serve under Sir Richard Wingfield, the Queen's Marshal, who was his kinsman. He probably married in England before coming to Ireland and seems to have had three sons by this marriage (I can provide details). He fought at the Battle of Kinsale in 1601 and at the siege of Dunboy(ne) in 1602, and received several Irish properties in liu of pay. He then married Catherine Travers who was stabbed to death in the Great Rebellion in 1642. Catherine bore at least 4 children including John above.

John Sr. was the son of Arthur Downing of Lexham in Norfolk (b. 10 5 1543 at St. Paul's Belchamp (Poles Belachamp) d. 19 9 1606 at Lexham), who married his second cousin Susan Calybute of Castle Acre, Norfolk) on 22 Nov. 1570 at Belchamp St. Paul. John was the eldest son of and extensive family, which also included Calybute Downing.

Arthur Downing was the son of Geoffrey Downing (b. 7 3 1524 at Pynest, Belchamp St. Paul, Essex d. 17 9 1595 Great Dunham, Norfolk. If not I can help you a bit. Our John Downing was the son of John Downing and Anne Rowe who lived at Rowe's Gift in co. Londonderry. He was born in 1640 and seems to have died in 1692. He was a Captain in the British Artillery and served in the Seven Years' War in Europe. He does not appear to have returned to Ireland, and we have not found a burial or will for him. It is entirely possible, as a fifth son, that the was the John Downing who went to Pennsylvania and married Mary Pagan in 1764, but we cannot demonstrate this with any certainty. What we can say is that he was not a descendant of Calybute Downing and Elizabeth Wingfield (or her first husband Edward Morrison). He was descended from Calybute's brother, also John, who moved to Ireland as a soldier in c. 1601. If you have Morrison DNA it is not through John Downing of Londonderry.

Re: Re: 2nd message - Calybute Downing the son, baptised October 27 1605

I have looked through the history of Delaware archive for the Downing family. One reason is that people will start to absorb the increased cost one way or the other. For congestion pricing to work, if other factors stay the same, it is likely that congestion prices will need to increase from time to time to keep up with people.

For the US success a key factor is public transport. London and Stockholm are very well connected with multiple layers of public transport. I believe in many US cities this is not the case, at least from what I remember living in Baltimore as a student. It was basically impossible to get around, even get out of the university, by public transport.

It is relatively easy to get around in London and even to its suburbs via subway, train and bus, Stockholm is very similar.

Re: BYD sees limited impact from electric car accident

On some other sites pictures of the GT-R are shown, which is damage but by no means look like 124 MPH / 180 km/h damage. Do not get me wrong, the Olympics are a great spectacle.

First, the host city needs to find out what it is trying to accomplish for the people of the city, the country and the world. Not just as a single slogan, but a complete plan that incorporates the "direction" after the games, for example sports education and funding.

The article clearly shows that the Olympics is not the place for building iconic buildings. Olympics is about sports, it should not be a construction event (it is of course undeniably a key ingredient).

Boasting about the billions invested in infrastructure is maybe a good way to say "we will make the Games a success". What matters most is how the sports and spirit of the games will be promoted during and after the games.

This is something the Olympics organizing committee maybe should take more into account in their selection...

Re: Detailed Parking Tickets Breach Personal Privacy, Appeals Court Says

It is quite amazing how this was started by incompetent and / or unwilling people.

How hard is it to adjust the software in your little portable printers just to NOT print this information.
