Such an amazing opportunity for you and for Justin TV. You deserve it! Can't wait to see what ideas you come up with, and which you choose to execute.

Re: louisgray.com: It's Not That I'm Addicted, But I Just Can't Stop Playing iShoot.

Oooh - that would be addicting. I was addicted to Scorched Earth in the 90's.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

With iShoot and SimCity on iPhone, all we need is Civilization and we'll never get anything done again!

Re: Espra Bootstrap

Also, do you have a microformat / API planned for Trust Maps?

Re: Espra Bootstrap

Wow. I can't wait to see this. I guess the big question is, where do you start? What parts of this are Bootstrap v.1 and what will be put on the roadmap?

Trust Maps, Shailas and the UI itself seem to me to be the place where the most value can be added most easily, so perhaps start there? Aggregating through Friendfeed would get a user enough data to start - perhaps Bootstrap could add an easy way for novice and/or non-FF users to have their FF account setup and feeding into Bootstrap as easily as possible.

Also, I'm interested to know what you had in mind to make the context hierarchy work. If a user types "jaguar" where do you get the disambiguate/contextualize options (ie. animal / car)? DMOZ?

Re: Mashable on Tumblr - Twitter vs FriendFeed Rivalry Gets Catty

I’ve...

They seem to be quite symbiotic.

I'd wager that FF gets a big chunk of its growth from Twitter. Twitter gets a great 3rd-party app that helps advanced users manage volume. And they seem to have mostly non-competitive directions: Friendfeed towards management/aggregation tools, Twitter is sticking to features that work on mobiles.

From a user perspective, they're both useful depending on what you want to do. Even the pro-FF people still keep their Twitter accounts, if only to lurk.

Re: Social search, not authority-based (Scripting News)

The Connell story is a great example of how relevant news can be suppressed in favour of a centralized agenda. Jeremiah's suggestion helps with that.

It also allows you to see opinions on a topic that are more relevant to you, and creates conversations since search results are closer to home.

Junlien51, that's a good point. But what happens if you take 2nd and 3rd-order followers into account? According to Twinfluence.com, 2nd and 3rd-order followers tend to decrease as immediate followers increase (see Social Capital at http://twinfluence.com/abou... so the influence of so-called A-Listers could still be diminished overall.

Number Of Followers also doesn't reflect trust in opinion and likelihood to create conversation. As Robert Scoble pointed out, Favourites and Replies are a better measure of these. I wonder how the Twitter Heavyweights would stack up if measured by # of replies or # of people engaged?
