People in Colorado (and the other legal-ish states) are closer to being free than people in states that haven't legalized marijuana. That's the only thing that really matters. Tax money is a bonus. Everything else is a bonus. Any of the minimal downsides are just par for the course.

Alcohol is FAR more dangerous than marijuana, and no one seems to have a problem with that. Where I live, you can get booze EVERYWHERE. In country parks? Yep. Right by the playground! No one gives a crap. Craft fair? Well, OF COURSE we have to serve booze at that. At 9 am.

Things to keep in mind for people who don't like it: it's only been a few years. Marijuana prohibition started 80 years ago. So, yeah, people are excited. Give them a break. At least they're not being drunk and obnoxious! :)

Re:

This is the viewpoint a lot of people would have if they had more facts.

Weed does not ACTUALLY smell like skunk. That's ridiculous. Pig farms are the worst smell I can think of, and no one wants to go making bacon illegal. I drive past an area in my city where you can smell the wastewater treatment plant AND a slaughterhouse for MILES, depending on the wind. Sometimes, smells are part of life. Get over it.

People in this country drink themselves stupid all over the place, and their conversations are far worse than most stoners.

Re: Ted Cruz lashes out: ‘The overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats’

He doesn't even care how untrue it is, because nearly 50% of the population of the U.S. will eat up this nonsense without even looking into it.

Re: Road Rage: Florida Man Fatally Shot Three Times In The Back In Front Of Family

Racist much?

Re: VIDEO: Gay Couple Denied Marriage License in Kentucky

The people working in this County Clerk office need to be fired immediately for this.

Re: Hear Father John Misty's Haunting Cover of Nirvana's 'Heart-Shaped Box'

are you sure you have ears?

Re: The Mars Volta - Amputechture Vinyl 2XLP

Their records always cost about twice as much as they should.

Re: VegOut for iPhone | Abolitionist Vegans

I'm glad vegan iPhone apps are starting to pop up, and this one looks like it'd be awesome. I bought it, but I already know that my city (Milwaukee) has 0 vegan restaurants, and a handful or two of vegan-friendly places around town, but nothing that I can't keep track of. It's still a great app, and it'll be useful for me if I travel at some point.
