It's definitely not a turtle. Turns out that turtles don't have this naked body underneath like I'd imagined. The shells generally grow out from the chest much like our ribs do. So, there's no skin under there, just internal organs being held in by a shell. Who knew?

ah-ha! i had to go 3 pages deep into a google search to figure it out. it's not a sample at all. rather, this song is used as the theme-song for the show House (in the U.S.).
