It's for this reason that so many publishers have offloaded commenting to third parties and social networks - its just too much real work. It's quite a shame, gardens can be so much fun.

Re: interesting

FB doesn't "scan" your profile. The value of SS for FB/Tumblr/Twitter is that it blends FAR MORE seamlessly into the stream. IE, people are already sharing content they've produced and are far more inclined to have a positive, emotional reaction to a brand's "story" in that context. Also, not for nothing, this is the way television advertising has worked for well over 50 years.

Re: Thought Catalog Writer Pens Brilliant History of Williamsburg a la Candide | The New York Observer

Whoa.

Re: Peter Braunstein, WWD Writer Turned Tabloid Monster, Still Has Issues

Nice.

Re: http://lizlet.tumblr.com/post/13786444914

They're cranes, not antennae ;)

Re: Meetup Is Moving; Watch Employees Dismantle Their Own Desks

Meetup is a startup? Sure, they exist on their platforms, but they interact the way that users interact... they're effectively brands as people and not brands as brands. Neither company (however successful) has monetized these brand interactions in a meaningful way because they've been trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Until they do, they're companies but not businesses.

Re: For when a place is more than just a place, we now have events

SMART!

Re: http://peterfeld.tumblr.com/post/9300355243

:)

Re: Save The Date: This Wednesday, The Media Power Singles Mixer

Singled out, nice!

Re: What the NYC startup world needs (and doesn’t need)

damnit.

Re: What the NYC startup world needs (and doesn’t need)

Also: less platitudes.

Re: Fever Pitch!
