Frankly, given the state of the economy and world political order, I'm thinking that we white males have made a bit of a mess of things so it's time to let someone else give it a try....   The point about Judge Sotomayer's unique life experiences providing benefit to the court is exactly what we should be striving for in the quest for 'diversity'.  The success of diversity comes from including people who can bring a different set of viewpoints to problems; demonstrating diversity simply by filling specific quotas is a form of racism that deeply hurts everyone.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I think that just as the vast majority of Republicans aren't as painfully ignorant as Rush Limbaugh, the majority of white males don't ascribe to the 'white males are victims' thing - at least not the ones that I know.  But it is people like Limbaugh who get noticed and who create the perception.  Hopefully though, we are making progress and over time there were be fewer and fewer of those foolish white males - be they Rush Limbaugh or the guy who missed out on his chance to marry you ;-)&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">ross_wil</dc:creator><pubDate>Wed, 27 May 2009 22:11:02 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
