During those days of the Vietnam war those of us serving in the Armed Forces were generally not treated well by the American public, but members of the community of Kingston were always gracious and friendly, a fact for which I will always remain grateful.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As Jerry said, the base closed in I think 1975.
