If you don't think the ron paul campaign has had an impact on online fundraising and organization... you're blind. someone could write a book about all the innovation that's been brought to politics by this campaign and its supporters... And if you think this has been a waste... well.... there's no help for you.

I would graph every candidates numbers if they made them available.. so far Huck and RP are the only candidates with the balls to do it.

It's valuable to see how we are performing against our competition.

It's got nothing to do with advertising...

there have been over 12 money bombs... some of them didn't even get to $100k this one is very successful... more successful that RudysReadingList which was organized by the same guy and had more time to spread....

I disagree with your opinion and perception of this strategy. I'm not 100% convinced of the money bomb phenomena... but I think it has value... record breaking days got us media attention and are fun for the grassroots.

there is nothing nefarious going on... you are simply misinterpreting the graph... we're at 5-7 times the usual scale... see the size of the "avg day".... if we're making $5k in a good hour on a normal day... a $2,300 donation looks like a big jump... but when we're making $50-$70k an hour, $2,300 is barely a blip... follow me? the "smoothness" you see is merely an artifact of scale.

even though there are 3 big 10% jumps already, which I assume are offline numbers (I still don't know for sure what their process is) you hardly notice them... yesterday, they would have jumped right out at you.

the point is to see the detail in the curve... which is obscured by the higher days... I think it's more interesting this way.

it's online totals only for RP... still not entirely sure of the status of Huck... it sure seems like he's adding in offline numbers... but I've heard the official word is (or was) that they are not adding in the offline numbers....

If anyone wanted to clear that up for me, I would appreciate it :)

the larger the total/number of donations the less you see the smaller jumps... $2,300 is only a tenth of a percent of the amount we raised that day... the other big days show a like behavior.

The hard thing to explain are the MASSIVE spikes that happen within a few minutes in the huckabee data... if it's not offline donations then it's really weird... that never happens in the RP data. slope never changes that abruptly.

In 1951 the US took out Iran's ELECTED leader and installed a dictator which ultimately lead to the empowerment and rule of Khomeini... should there be no repercussions there for us?

We have funded both sides of every conflict in that region for decades...

we're friendly with the biggest terror supporting country in the world (Saudi)..

That's just a couple examples of MANY where the US is asserting it's will over these nations.. who's way or the highway?

isn't 9/11 as justifiable as our actions? we've killed more people with our actions, I assure you.

I think what they did was evil... but I think what we've done and what we're doing is also evil... none of it is justified.... there is plenty of blame to go around...

How many wrongs make a right? Do you have an equation?

How were the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraq civilians at fault? how was Iraq at fault at all? why aren't we invading Saudi (where all but a couple of the actual hijackers came from)? Why didn't we assassinate Bin Laden? Instead of doing something useful, we did exactly the wrongest thing we could think of.

You don't want "them" to pay... you want all Arabs and muslims to pay... you don't care where they come from or what involvement they had or did not have with 9/11... you want revenge, not justice... This war has nothing to do with justice at all.

My point about indians/blacks/jews was that the same speech people who support the war use against muslims is the same type of language people used against those other groups to vilify them and justify their extermination or maltreatment on a massive scale.

your argument is like saying the solution to the attacking bear (which you angered by poking it in the eye) is to poke it in the eye some more...

the idea that "radical Islam" came out of nowhere and attacked for nothing defies reason and history. The idea that America has the obvious moral high ground against the "radical islamic terrorists" is preposterous... it's sticking your head in the sand and willfully ignoring 6 decades of history... don't the things that happened before 9/11/2001 matter? or how about the hundreds of thousands who have died since then, do they matter?

"Conservative Solutions" don't include preemptive war and massive attacks against basic civil liberties here at home... Huckabee is no conservative... fascist, maybe... conservative, not even close.

I'm really sick of this Fear based politicking... they've got you so scared of the "islamic savages" you don't even care that your freedoms are evaporating and your grand children's money is being spent at an all time high... there are plenty of things to be afraid of.. but they don't live in caves in the middle east... they wear suits and work in washington.

better alive and safe than free and dead, i guess, right? the founding fathers are rolling.
