How the hell would DevOps kill developer jobs? I thought that DevOps was supposed to support developers. It's like saying that Microsoft Windows will kill its users (not so far from the truth, actually).
Does anything in IT make sense anymore or it is just buzzwords being thrown around?

It appears that Sony bought Minolta to acquire the means (know how, tooling, IP, etc.) to enter the semi-pro and pro market. As such they would have made use of these newly acquired resources. I do not know the extent of changes that they introduced.

Oh yeah, don't rock the boat! Let's have the slappy mirror for a few more decades as a throwback to the good old times. Why change something that was so perfect?

Honestly though, I like old-school. I like film SLR with tactile, metal, well-though manual controls. I am all for careful iteration and appreciate heritage.

However when I buy new I except something new. When I buy digital I expect something different, not just a film SLR with the back plate swapped out for a sensor. OK, I'm exaggerating. I just want to see some will to re-think things, and to maximize the use of new tech, digital. Pushing the boundaries.

I feel that this spirit of innovation was more alive in the past, and it had somewhat faded.

Sony brings back some excitation and this is great, but not so much when it contributes to turning high end cameras into disposable products (with horrible software and no updates).

But to be fair this is not a Sony thing but all manufacturers exhibit this problem in some form (releasing a half-baked or crippled product and moving on). It's not a new thing either, by any means.

Whatever Sony is accelerating, already existed in the market.

Oh, and I don't think that Sony "does not understand photographers". Thanks to them, you can get an a7 (now really cheap - the original one) and mount virtually any manual vintage or exotic lens you can lay your hands on (using an adapter) and shoot away. It lets you do that and gets out of your way. If this is not a photographer's fantasy, then whose is it?

Average consumers don't care about mirrrorless, they don't care about legacy glass. If anything consumers are going with Nikon and Canon DSLR because they just look pro, because it has been recommended to them as a "go to" camera - they don't shop around for days with a clear idea of what they want.They don't get excited about 5-stop IBIS, EFSC, etc. surely not to the point of shelling out $3500.

It's not a "complicated relationship". Here it is:
KSA provides USA with petrol at good prices and orders aircrafts and weapons from them, USA ignores KSA killing children in Yemen and killing or imprisoning free speech activists.
Nobody asks about Saudi funding for terrorism and why most 9/11 hijackers were Saudi. Nobody rocks the boat.
Is that complicated?

It is very simple really, if you have a lens with a focusing scale, and you know the distance to your subject, then you pre-set the focus with the help of the focusing scale. Then you are ready to nail your photo at the right moment.
You will not be at the mercy of autofocus.
For me, autofocus will delay the shot and fail 5%-10% of the times, so I prefer zone focusing for some situations.

Technically yes, same focal length with the same aperture will produce the same depth of field on any sensor from 1mm to 35mm or medium format or whatever. However people tend to think more in terms of 35mm equivalent focal length so the angle of view of a 35mm lens mounted on an APS-C sensor is equivalent to a 50mm lens mounted on a FF sensor, however the DOF of a 35mm lens is significantly deeper than that of a 50mm so in practice when you use a smaller sensor you get bigger DOF unless you have a very wide aperture such as F1.
