I find myself doing RAIN a lot lately. I know the isolation is causing my anxiety. I feel there is little I can do about it. I can only follow the usual guidelines for coping with anxiety attacks. Some of these mentioned may help.

Some good subreddits there I joined two of them. But the problem is although these communities have lots of members they are very inactive. Productivity for example only has 500 active members from a total of over half a million.

Time is a thing people forget when looking for traffic. A blog is not going rank on the first page of the serps overnight. Another thing is getting target traffic as non targeted visitors can increase your bounce rate which is not a good thing.

I have not been blogging for a few years and have not seen one of these on a blog for a long time. Do people use them much now ?. I though most people just used facebook or twitter. If I were looking for thing to try in building a community around a blog this would be one of the tools I would use first to get a network of fellow bloggers.

Cool you are a linux user also.I use a service called magellen tv $6 month and no ads ,you can get a free trial, but I find that they do not refresh their content very often, and there is no autoplay option but it has lots of documentaries especially history stuff. For downloading I use an extension called "Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express" to get YouTube videos. My connection constantly breaks so I have to download them I most get documentary type stuff to look at before I go to bed. It helps me sleep without those annoying ads it's the music that bugs me mostly in them.

First thing to do Stacey is create an account with Disqus so your avatar will show when you make a comment on a blog it is a pain creating accounts but it has to be done and it's free so go do it as soon as possible since it's quite important.

It's not just students facing this social networking distraction problem on a constant basic but also people trying to be in anyway creative or innovative. Recently I started a blog wich was nearly never started since I was looking for social networking api's and creating profiles and not doing what was important to me which was creating content for the site to promote in the first place.

Not that sure about AMD but Nvidia seems to work great Ubuntu Studio 11.04 and the drivers were not that hard to install. The problem is if you install the wrong drivers you have no display and then you need to be a commandline jockey. Open suse is working on oneclick nvidia driver installs http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:... I hope gnome will have a similar project maybe . The suse drivers did not work b.t.w that was a geforce210 but either did the windows drivers since I had to remove a memoryblock to get them working so I lost 512 mb Ram under the nvidia windows drivers and since I do not have to pay for ubuntu I have money to upgrade my video card .

Hello Bob get yourself a disquss profile first you will need it later. The problem casey is causing is that he uses a general comment that can cover any topic. This is because he believes that his search term will gain rankings because he is getting a link back form this url to his niche blog. The problem is that this post is not a topic related to his search term so it will have no impact on his search rankings. Many spammers like to comment using keywords as their name this is why this blog uses such commenting systems as discuss as a reader like @sitebrains and myself can flag them for spam.

Anyway he is wasting his time, Commenting systems like disquss are nofollow so despite his efforts he is not only doing this now, but later google search changes could peanilise his site. Google have started on combating such efforts but people have to discourage such practices even though it's an ongoing war both bloggers and google have against spam.

Currently spammers seem to have changed to trackback Spam as plugins for comment spam seem to be improving. But if you have a large site administering comment spam can be a problem so many blogs are switching to 3rd party commenting systems like disquss, intense debate, facebook comments and some others as readers can say what is spam and what is not.
