At my work we have a fair amount of movement (in and out, changing programs or just moving where you sit). One colleague georeferenced a floorplan and joined it to a database of employee information and photos to keep a workplace map up to date with names and faces - super helpful :)

Thanks Adena for extra promotion about this. My name is Christina Boggs and I'm president of NorCal URISA's chapter and I set up the meet up at CalGIS. There's been a growing movement of getting women that are in GIS or interested in GIS together. I'm going to set up a conference call and a poll to distribute and see what kind of interest there is to get a group set up. One of the ideas that was thrown out at this meet up was to see if we could get a mentoring program running. What do you folks think? :)

So random. Last Tuesday I decided to start eating meat again - after 2 years of being a veggie. Glad to see I'm not the only unhealthy eating vegetarian, although I do feel guilty that I'm killing a little guy to eat him (or part of a cycle that is killing him anyway). We'll see how my change goes.

Did starting eating meat again make you sick? I'm a week into it and even in very small quantities even fish and chicken are making me sick.

I feel though that once you get to the point where you are happy it's easier to maintain that without an active decision to "choose to be happy".

I'd agree that we all must pursue happiness in order to embrace it but I'm a bit on the other side of the argument in that I feel like we have the ability to be happy - to achieve happiness while still pursuing it. Like having a garden, you can work to get it started and there's a point where the garden grows but without continued maintenance of the garden it'll decline and die. There's a long time within that "garden growing" period that the garden is healthy, but you still need to weed...you still need to water....you still need to pursue happiness.

This is evidence you aren't crippled and brokenhearted - just a little worse for wear at the moment.

I would think that not only are you at the point where you don't care if your emotional thoughts get published to the masses, you're at the point where this is part of your circle...your personal support/release. I think its healthy.
