It says "just add it here and to get added". Don't know what that's supposed to say, but looks like some typo to me :)

Is there any place where you would like to receive feedback? I mean like some centralized place like a tracker or something? I can imagine people will want to throw you feedback since it's new and a.w.e.s.o.m.e.

Re: giving it another try - blahblah.io

apparently this works too. yay!

We zullen zien over 10 (of 20) jaar :)

Bepaalde sectoren daar gelaten.

Re: Stock Advisory: Buy Mumbai Unlimited; Sell Terror Inc

Great article! I happen to do the IT for a company that has several divisions, which work outside my hours. I was always reachable for them, but this turned around a bit lately. For me the "leave my phone at home" moment came when I had a nice and even little romantic dinner with my girl and all kinds of people started to call me. With stupid questions even! Since that day I try to leave my phone in the car, at home or put it to silence.

The problem with always being reachable is, that if you give in too much, people are going to expect they can always and ever call you. They even start calling you if a question pops up in their mind, which also could have waited to the next day... Ah well, guess if you are responsible for a whole lot of systems and the company being up, you have to be reachable in some way. Although if your company expects you to be reachable 24/7, they should also pay you for 24/7 instead of 40/5 if you ask me.

Anyway, the vacation which was most relaxing for me ever, was the one to Australia, where I left my phone home and did not read email for 5 weeks. It felt like being back in the 80's, but man, really lost loads of wrinkles on that one!

My first computer actually was a Commodore 64 and an Amiga after that. The Amiga has been the machine I was impressed by the most (talking late 80's here). Nowadays I use pc's running Linux.

Despite I really like the way the Mac looks, I hate the vendor lock in stuff. And the price... If I head to a Mac store and assemble a machine I want, the price is ridiculous. For the same amount of money I can get me a pc which will fly me to the moon and back.

So, no Mac for me, despite the looks are totally sexy!

Re: Welkom

Hij doet ut!

Re: Today is my 23rd birthday

congrats man!

Re: Evernote&#039s Big Win(dows) Beta Release

Ok, cannot get it running in Wine... but I do notice it's build on .net. Don't they realize they are killing the music industry with this ridiculous fees? This will only drive more people into pirating. Man, times have changed. I do agree that artists should get paid for their work, but how many Ferrari's do those guys need? If you don't innovate, your business dies... This has always been the case and will always be. Quit whining and start innovating. I've been in touch with computers from an early age as well. I can remember saving a whole bunch of money to get me computer. My parents told me if I could save half, they would pay the other half. And so it happened: I got me a commodore! Awesome stuff that was. Untill I bought my own, I always had to rely on friends to play around with computers. After the 64, it was an Amiga (still teh best machine ever build if you ask me!). From the Amiga I went to a 486. Man, I wore those machines down. Trying to learn about programming, always reading programming books when traveling to school/work. I also installen Linux somewhere in the 90's (don't really recall when exactly, but must have been somewhere around 95 I think). That stuff was sweet!

Oh and internet, man, I mis those modem sounds sometimes... Anyway, from being an enthousiastic hobby computer fan I am a full time software developer nowadays. So, made my hobby my job. What else could you wish for?

Re: Are you bypassing your company’s IT policies?

I read this @ work. No websites at all are blocked here. Most of the staff thinks we monitor what they watch and we keep that myth up by telling them they have a survey with IT at the end of the year if they watch too much pr0n at work. It's funny how easily people are scared :)

Anyway, no blocks at all. Maybe not a very good idea, but everybody is working hard, so doing a bit of socializing during their breaks is ok I think.

Re: We Won a Crunchie! w00t!

Congrats!
