Ronald Reagan was a great man, a great leader. He was passionate about his country and freedom. Whether he was a republican or democrat at the time of his presidency would have not have not mattered. He was truly one of a kind. Show a little respect to your former President and think about how silly your comments are regarding his speech.... It is impossible to think that this is a conspiracy of any kind, your just saying that because you have nothing to say....

Re: Senate Finance Committee Votes Against Including Public Option In Reform Bill | AHN

First of all, it was Bill Clinton who deregulated the financial system. That's fact. The government should not have bailed any company out. Period. In terms of the auto industry I don't believe that any of them should have been bailed out either. With that said your way off base about American cars being inefficient and so poor. That's a farce, these companies could not get out from under the weight of the union pension plans that they were forced to pay coupled with a US government whose standards were placed so high in terms of safety and fuel economy, (the desirable fuel/not diesel) that it is impossible for them to compete. While American companies were not able to see profits in our own backyard GM was profitable in almost every other market including Europe, Buick is a highly sought after vehicle in China and Ford has a car that the US will not allow them to sell here that is available in Europe that gets 60 miles to the gallon because it runs on diesel. As Ronald Reagan said, government isn't the solution to our problems, it is the problem.

Re: Senate Finance Committee Votes Against Including Public Option In Reform Bill | AHN

If doctors are so opposed then why did the million med march on Washington just occur?

Re: Senate Finance Committee Votes Against Including Public Option In Reform Bill | AHN

Truly you are not a scholar. You and should perhaps many liberals should do some reading of our founding documents or any of the memoirs written in the years after the country was founded. The Federalist Papers comes to mind. In total, the Federalist Papers consist of 85 essays outlining how this new government would operate and why this type of government was the best choice for the United States of America. I think that unfortunately this country and its people have lost their way and need to re-educate themselves. Too often as in this debate many people who have spoken have no basis for discussion considering that its quite clear that many of you have put no effort into understanding the founding principles of this country. Everyone wants to chime in with their next best thing, throwing aside our history as old hat and telling us to never look back keep moving forward. How would you like it if someone you didn't know told you to forget your family, its history, its value system and move on....? Would you be willing to do so, especially with little or no debate? I think not.

Re: Senate Finance Committee Votes Against Including Public Option In Reform Bill | AHN

In an amazing speech Ronald Reagan speaks about the government takeover of health care and outlines how health care is often used as a mask to cover up the real intentions of those in government who would see fit that every aspect of our lives should be ruled by the government and transform our country into a nanny state where each and every one of us is told what to do, how to do it and how much we should receive for doing it. If you don't believe me look around you, when in your life have you ever heard of the United States government taking over car manufacturers, financial institutions and setting the pay rates for not only companies who receive government funds but all companies? Do you really believe that the government's appetite for power will end at healthcare? This audio by Ronald Reagan is mind blowing and to think he spoke to the issues at hand all the way back in the 1960's is amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRdLpem-AAs

Re: Senate Finance Committee Votes Against Including Public Option In Reform Bill | AHN

Listen, don't be so quick to paint me with such broad strokes, I was kicked out of my house at the age of 17 year old by my deranged step mother. I had nothing but the clothes on my back. I enlisted in the military, got an education, worked hard and started my own business. All without a dime of the governments money!! I didn't feel sorry for myself or hate people who were successful. I looked up to them and wanted to achieve what they had. I was thankful that I could with hard work have the same opportunities they did. I many times in my life did not have medical insurance, my parents were always poor and we went without even electricity or heat at times during my childhood. I do simpathize with those who don't have medical coverage, I do believe that we should reform health care. I don't however believe in the vehicle being used to get us there. I think that if you really try and apply logic to the arguments you will come to the same conclusion that we aren't really talking about health care reform, we are talking about a fundamental transformation of our lives....

Re: Senate Finance Committee Votes Against Including Public Option In Reform Bill | AHN

It amazes me that we have become a country of people always looking over each others shoulder, with their hand out wanting some of your success. A bunch of nit pickers, don't say God in school, don't pray, don't say the pledge of allegiance, don't say Christmas, don't display anything that is important to you without checking with everyone else to make sure its not offensive. Does anyone get what's going on here? This country was built on the foundation that all Americans would be allowed to practice their religion, do what makes them happy with tolerance of government and its people. I just read that the state of Michigan ordered a mother to stop baby sitting her neighbors kids while they wait to get on the bus because she was breaking a law that prohibits her from doing so without a license. All because she performed a kind gesture to 3 neighbors who have to go to work. In another instance of insanity the government wants to actually curb talk radio and television because people simply don't want to hear the liberals message. That sounds like North Korea or China, not the USA. People need to wake up and realize that if we continue to allow our freedoms to be taken away from us piece by piece soon their won't be any pie left.

Re: Senate Finance Committee Votes Against Including Public Option In Reform Bill | AHN

Good points Peter. This has nothing to do with helping the uninsured but a takeover of our lives. There is no logic to their arguments, health care reform can lower costs with oversight by the government. Tort reform is another solution that will lower costs which is supposed to be what this is all about. Why then have we heard no mention of this in any debate???? Because it has nothing to do with lowering costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Senate Finance Committee Votes Against Including Public Option In Reform Bill | AHN

I always love it when liberals like yourself include polls by media outlets such as New York Times, CBS, NBC and others that are all in the bag for the democrats and their radical agendas. Try referencing any other polls and you will find the exact opposite. Couple that with the town hall meetings, tea parties, etc. and its easily seen that Americans aren't in favor of health care. Furthermore, why do you think this is such a great idea considering that government has mismanaged social security, medicare (both are bankrupt 53 trillion, doh) and consider how great the Post Office is doing. How far should we go into debt before we reconsider adding any more government entitlement programs. That aside if this has so much support why is the government threatening to not only fine you but actually jail you.... Unreal.....!!!!!

Re: Senate Finance Committee Votes Against Including Public Option In Reform Bill | AHN

It amazes me how disenchanted these liberals are with Americans who overwhelmingly are opposed to the public option and furthermore the government takeover of healthcare period... It appears that certain leaders in Congress no longer feel the need to work on behalf of the public but rather are only willing to push their own policies, ideologies or agendas that are only in their best interest. We need to get government back on our side and off our back. When did hard work and success get replaced with equal pay and mediocrity? That sounds like Russia, not America... If we keep heading in this direction we will soon only remember the America I grew up in as a distant memory. Tell your congressman, stop apologizing to our enemies, start listening and start doing what we want for a change. What our founding fathers fought so hard for and died for... Let not their ultimate sacrifice be for not. I hope that this message inspires at least one person out their to take notice and take action to curb the government takeover of our lives.... God bless us everyone and God bless America.
