Actually not too bad of a square foot price ( a little high for the product) and simple but never the less well thought out. Here is another example of someone who put some effort into the design.

Re: Clayton Homes Green e-Living Concept

I hope prefab makes it in some context. Our company is looking into it for some multifamily in the hopefully not so distant future as the economy allows.

It was just such a shame to see the renderings these guys threw out there after something more exciting like the i-house.

Re: Clayton Homes Green e-Living Concept

This has got to be one of the worst designs I have seen on this site...and others. Regardless of a good concept without good or even decent architecture the life span of this building will be a fraction of a well designed and desired product. Why even bother with the different roofs at each entry at this point. Even if they are trying to save money to make this affordable (not sure if that is the case) I think that is hardly an excuse for what will be another eyesore that could have been more for the next 20-30 years. Here is a link to a prefab multifamily duplex that someone else tried a little harder on.

http://www.bouldercounty.or...

Re: The Earth-Sheltered House [Giveaway]

Build it down in the ground!

Re: Small, Modern, and Green YardPods

This is a pretty generic product and other than the DIY option kind of a high price point. Its nice to see there are a few design options on the website but nothing that got me going. I also noticed they listed the insulation as LEED Certified. Either I didn't know that a product could be certified or they meant to say it could count towards LEED Credits.

Re: Writing on the Green IdeaPaint Wall

Does this really works as a countertop finish? Too bad affordable prefab housing wasn't a goal on this one....still great to see the sustainable elements included.

Re: 3716 Springfield House by Studio 804, LEED Platinum and Off the Grid

This sounds like a great program to be a part of. This is a great site and a great source to keep up with the industry. As for the book, I would like to see Michelle's thoughts on SIP construction and everything else she has to say about prefab. Cheers!
