California used to be a powerhouse with a booming economy and growing surplus in the past. Why? In the past the majority of the state was run by conservatives and business minded people of all industries (even Hollywood). As more and more liberals took power the surplus vanished and social programs grew.

Businesses have been leaving California for decades for this reason. Only now as the welfare teet starts drying up are people becoming concerned.

The phone records are available and so are any 911 calls so what exactly would be on her phone implicating someone for the arson? BS. Perfectly timed to the terrorists shooting and demonizing Apple. Nordic countries have the highest standard of living? Says who? Super high taxes and oppressive socialism that demotivates people from excelling is hardly progressive. Add to that a higher suicide rate and personal debt and you have to be nuts to call that better than how it is in the US.

Sure, its better for men that have lots of money and move there because women are prettier and tend to be more feminine but that's about it. Heck, my wife is from there. Great place to visit but don't want to live there as long as we have ambition.

How is a tough gun control law "working" when gun violence goes up? Adding more tough laws show a rise a murder by gun rates everywhere they are implemented. DC has had the toughest gun control laws (no guns allowed, even in homes) and they have the highest murder by gun rate of any state. All these mass murders we see in the media oddly never happen in Constitutional Carry states.

Ever heard of a car jacking in Texas or a rape case that involved an exchange of gun fire? Me either.

We too are parents that refuse to allow the schools to hold our kids back. Lucky for us we are in an area where high IQ's and expectations are the norm. Still, there are times when they seem to make up their own rules and need to be challenged.
If your schools suck just make sure you teach them that the majority do things one way and the exceptional do them another. Our kids have to integrate in the world eventually so make sure they are in the right mindset to NOT end up like the sheeple.
