Been loving this series. I was at game 6 (was 13 years old). Such amazing memories. I had worn my Zezel jersey to the game but actually borrowed my friend's Daigneault Canucks jersey to wear to school the next day. So damn proud of that team.

Interesting Sunjo-

First off, I was trying to look at it not considering the Weber suspension which was just way off. In more of a vacuum, I think I have to evaluate it step by step.

Why?

I agree with your assertion that he was better off cutting off the pass than going behind the net. Excellent point. I also noticed that he was left handed and there was no other direction he would have played the puck. :)

The things that I noticed most obviously are:

1. Shaw glides into the check for a considerable distance (with his feet not moving or striding) before that sharp turn behind the net and has his head facing directly at Smith that entire time. It appears as though that check was intended from the get go OR if not, he did have enough time to make "reasonable effort" to avoid the contact. Knowing that player he was gliding toward was the goalie should have given him extra impetus to get out of the way. Thus suspension is necessary and he gets one game for this portion.

2. I don't think he intended to hit Smith's head, since it does seem like Smith moved his head to where Shaw's shoulder was to play the puck, but he did. The penalty given during the game should have been enough to cover this part of the infraction. If you think there was intent to hit the head, add another game here.

3. Smith clearly played it for sympathy and overdid it, but it also seems like he was shaken a bit. The fact that he played (maybe hiding an injury/acting tough until full evaluation, though?), and wasn't injured shouldn't be a factor IMO but it is one in Shanaland. Since no injury? No additional games assessed.

Upshot? 1-2 Games.

There might be some excellent uses of Social Media by a local org/person for a general awareness campaign, or a city that interacted with its citizens in a creative way, a local store that had a successful integrated social media marketing campaign, or a community response to a specific crisis that warrants an award.

For my market here in Salt Lake City, I would nominate @WWJDinSLC. He's the best at getting the word out about events and restaurants, etc. in town via a combo of Twitter/Blogging/Facebook and other social media outlets. He is limited to SLC. Another similar example is in Washington, DC (a bigger market for sure), Free in DC. http://freeindc.blogspot.com/

Matthew Rhys has been stuck in the dreck that is Brothers & Sisters on ABC, doing an American accent (which he is good at) and playing gay (which he is also good at).

I see what you mean about Rhys. I just really want to keep Jack & Gwen apart for the time being. :)
