Sir, you may have very well paid more taxes than GE did last year. Is that fair? Exxon and BP likely got a refund in the form of substities in the amount of billions from the taxes you and I pay. Is that fair?
I agree with personal responsibility. You shouldn't be driving a BMW if you are eating off of foodstamps and living in HUD substidized housing. That is insane and they should be stripped of the taxpayers assistance. But this makes up a small percentage of people receiving assistance. Most are short term prideful recipient taking care of families who would otherwise be homeless without it. Others are disabled either from birth or by accident unable to survive without our intervention. If we are judged by how we treat those with the greatest need, then we should be cautious about how we judge those with the greatest need as lazy and greedy. Greed better refers to those who accept corporate welfare.

Oh I see. You are an anarachist. You believe that all government is inherently evil and inefficient. Thus we should weaken it as much as possible and allow the independent corporate structure of capitalism handle itself. I am a physician and consider myself a moderate. So welfare...If you are speak of medicare, medicaide and social security, I would agree that none are these programs are perfect. As a physician, the pay from medicare and mediaide is abissmal but at least they pay. They provide are safety net to the elderly who make up 35 to 40% of the people who make up the medicaid roster who would be homeless or dead if medicaid, which many of them paid for with 50+ years of labor, was not available. Ask your grandparents, if they are still alive, how they would be doing without their medicare/welfare. Perhaps I assume too much. Your grandparents may be independently wealthy. But if not, health care vs. food would be the choice that they would have to make. I have done mission trips in countries with weak central governments and where the local governments are enslaved by coporate interest and corruption. The children starve and their citizens die too young of curable disease.
We are headed there quickly if we do not wake up and become reasonable about our responsibility to those the bible refers to as the least of these: our less fortunate. Remember our Nation's motto and if nothing else read the Preamble to the Constitution before you speak on the ills of "Welfare." We the people of the UNITED States in order to form a more perfect UNION, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, PROMOTE THE GENERAL W E L F A R E and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves AND our POSTERITY, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Pray for him. Who could be hurt if he does well and claims a special place of reformation as part of the solution rather than the problem. 1 Corr 13 speaks well of Love keeping no record of wrong. For all the righteous ones who refuse to forgive his "atrocities" know that standard by which you judge him will be used to judge you as well. Only the most worthy should be prepared to throw stones. As for the rest of us I recommend forgiveness.

It is amazing to see that such ignorance is still par for course. Yeah the errors were pretty bad; long night of work. So feel free to negate valid points based on a few grammatic errors. Good for you that you work with the homeless for a living. But there are so many other human issues that better warrant your "righteous anger" than Micheal Vick and the dogs he did or did not kill. I have worked for the last 9 years as a physician and have seen first hand those left behind while those in your world focus on such foolishness. Know that the Philedelphia Eagles will still make millions whether you are watching or not and that your insults of me are as immaterial and irrelavent as you and your boycott. Feel free to check the grammar.

How many animals did you kill now?! Really How many animals did Micheal Vick kill? Micheal Vick more than anything is guilty of being stupid. He is guilty of trusting friends whom he should have long ago separated himself from WHO KILLED DOGS! He is guilty of being given a golden ring in high school and being too immature to wear it. There atheletes all over the place you have destroyed human lives in drunk driving incidence, drug trafficing and dead beat dad incidents and none of them have serve as much time as Micheal Vick who was too immature and too stupid to say no to childhood friends WHO KILLED DOGS! Perspective Please! His life is irrevocably changed. Pita's brain scan foolishness and you dropping you favorite team won't make it better or worse at this point. If you want real cause to support give up you beer during the game and donate the money you save to M.A.D.D. Stop watching football not because of Micheal Vick but because you choose to volunteer you time at a homeless shelter or as a big brother/sister to a child in need. The Micheal Vick cause is not impressive.
