It's just that the clues aren't always in the same room as the puzzle they relate to, and often they require some thought and insight to figure out. It's necessary to physically write down every clue you find, and consult your notes often; failure to keep track of that information is what leaves you stumbling around randomly. But it's 100% possible to solve both games without outside hints.

Re: Someone modded out that vaseline-blur effect in Link's Awakening Switch

"Some people consider it an artistic choice"? The Atari 2600 was $770 in today's money when it came out. The first Macintosh was $5500. It's always been like this. We haven't been seeing these sort of prices in recent console generations only because those haven't been new tech, only incremental upgrades to old tech. But it's been long enough that everyone's forgotten the steps to this dance.

Re: Ubisoft didn't take 9/11 into consideration when making The Division

I agree. He doesn't control quite like other platformer characters usually do. Once you get a handle on it, though, it's fine. I actually came to rather like it. They show up and whine and whine about how progress isn't being made, and eventually the creators cave and add cheats that make it easy to win, and excruciating to watch.

It happened with the original Twitch Plays Pokémon, and it'll continue to happen every single time.

Re: Vita gamers get Super Time Force Ultra, La-Mulana EX, and Xeodrifter for free on PS Plus next month | News - sale

Definitely play La-Mulana, it's fantastic. And what makes collecting something a compelling hobby isn't the having, it's the /hunting/. People feel compelled to try and collect them all, because collecting them all is a difficult achievement. Rarity and scarcity is what powers this entire engine, and limited/exclusive availability is how you do rarity and scarcity.

If it were possible to have every amiibo in the set just by putting your
money on the counter, they probably wouldn't even be a thing any more. People
would already be bored of collecting them. The fact that there are a bunch of them that are difficult to get is the only thing that keeps people interested and talking about amiibo. This article would never have been written and posted otherwise.

Re: Razer/Ouya deal means no money for indies, devs encouraged to not talk to press

Yeah.
