Far from being persecuted because of who he is, Trump's status as a former president and as the unofficial leader of the Republican Party have led to him being handled with vastly more deference than anyone else would be. The result has been a series of delays and missteps which may allow Trump to escape accountability once again.

The right wants us to believe that (President Joe) Biden and his administration will stop at nothing to put Trump in jail as quickly as possible, In fact, the exact opposite is true. Worried about just this type of accusation, the Justice Department under Merrick Garland and the FBI have approached their investigations of Trump much too cautiously.

The tax cuts signed into law by former President Trump at the end of 2017 were a boon for profitable corporations, according to a new report released by the Government Accountability Office. It finds the average effective federal income tax rate paid by large, profitable corporations fell to 9 percent in the first year that the Trump tax law was in effect, and the share of such companies paying nothing at all rose to 34 percent that year.

This is consistent with our findings that profitable corporations often pay little or nothing. While the corporate minimum tax passed this summer will help, Congress now needs to pass the international corporate minimum tax to further address this problem.

There is no way the Democrats can hold the Senate in 2024 with so many seats up for vote. Greene and Johnson both got re-elected which clearly shows there are still too many brain dead voters out there. Greene will cause havoc as will Johnson. Trump will be irrelevant but if a Republican candidate for President can bring in more voters by denying MAGA idiots he will win easily.

In a crushing blow to democracy, Florida’s Supreme Court declines to hear a challenge to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ new heavily gerrymandered congressional map that unfairly favors Republicans and targets Black voters. This is voter suppression but wait; it gets worse.

The state of Florida this week threatened to fine the Special Olympics tens of millions of dollars over its vaccination requirements. ABC News’ Jay O’Brien reported that the Florida Department of Health sent a letter to Special Olympics International this week informing the organization that it would slap them with a fine of $27.5 million for violating Florida’s rules against requiring vaccinations against COVID-19.

He also is petty. DeSantis plans on punishing the MLB team by pulling stadium funding. On Thursday, Bobby Burack from Outkick wrote, “Florida Governor Ron DeSantis plans to veto a $35 tion for a Pasco d for the Tampa Bay Rays’ spring OutKick has learned. DeSantis’s decision is in response to the Rays politicizing recent shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde ahead of a matchup with the Yankees in May.”

Meanwhile, new results from Florida’s 3rd grade reading exams statewide aren’t good. About a quarter of kids tested in public schools could read proficiently, meaning they scored a 4 or 5 on the crucial exam.

I attended almost two years of law school and wrote various papers on Constitutional Law. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that two totally unqualified people could be appointed to SCOTUS. They lied to get their seats but are so totally unqualified to hold these positions it boggles the mind.

here. It's not like they don't pay property taxes. They do

pay tremendous property taxes in Orange and Osceola,

but they pay for their own fire protection, they contract

with the sheriff's department and pay for protection

from the sheriff's department, they are responsible for

their own infrastructure, everything. So they are paying

property taxes, but they're also paying millions and

millions of dollars for upkeep to what would usually be

done by the county, so it could be that the taxpayers of

Orange and Osceola counties are gonna get a tax

increase because of the Reedy Creek District going

away.
