Even I, in far away Australia, can see that that 4% of the UK-wide vote has nothing to do with it. As the SNP vote is entirely concentrated in Scotland, translates into almost 50% of the vote where it counts and with your FPP system and voter distribution upto 50 seats. It is highly probable that Labour and SNP together will have enough seats to form government with the SDLP and Plaid Cymru as backup. Its just arithmetic.

Why "Black Dog"?

The image of the "Black Dog" to represent depression goes back to at least the 18th century, but most people would associate it with Winston Churchill Prime Minister of the UK during the Second War World who described his own depression as the "black dog".

You clearly don't know what clinical depression is. It is not "feeling a little bit down" for a day or so. Clinical depression is an illness that people don't get over by watching cheery videos. At it's worst it is severely debilitating, as shown in the video, that can last for months, years or a lifetime.

But for the most part it is straight, homophobic bullies who are making an issue of being gay or just being seen as gay, verbally and physically, everyday. Ignoring this fact won't make the issue go away. A little bit of empathy might make you understand this and why powerful coming out stories make a difference to the victims.

Well how many gay characters is too many? Twenty? five? one? Considering gay people make up 3% - 10% of the population, depending on whose producing the stats, shouldn't TV reflect that? And not by constantly making gayness front and centre in the storyline, just part of it. Straight characters can be "a crashing bore" too but their boringness is never linked to their straightness. To say that about gay characters smacks of bias.

Clearly David Burger was the wrong reviewer for this concert. One reason, of many, why: his expectation that One Direction should conform to a preconceived notion of what defines a boyband.
