Especially on mobile. At least think about how a person uses a mobile device.

Re: Instagram's New Logo Is a Travesty. I was just pointing out that I'd like to hear how he would do it. Design is not simple. This article makes it seem so. By attempting to display how he would do it, might show just how complex it is.

Re: Instagram's New Logo Is a Travesty. Many don't even know they can download new apps.

When marketing a few apps that we've launched I've REALLY struggled finding tech influencers that use Android. iPhone wins hands down in that community.

Re: Why Turntable.fm’s Lame/Awesome button is awesome

Thanks for the heads up on this Ross. :)

Re: Greetings from Japan, Beta Vlog Entry

Love you, and miss you heaps! xxxx

Re: Johnson & Johnson Does New Media

Great work Ron. It just happens to look like a recession is on the horizon. As they always are.

The bubble at the beginning of the decade was an investment bubble, because yes, investment in the tech sector was over blown. However, this time around almost everyone has been more rational.

I hate the term "bubble" when used to describe the tech sector at the moment. It's not about to burst, because it isn't a bubble. It may turn into a recession.

Re: Diary of a Detox - Day 3

Penny, you found another kid, or detox? ;)

Re: Diary of a Detox - Day 3

Oh only 4...maybe 5 hours! :) No chance on making it days.

Re: Diary of a Detox - Day 3

Woohoo. Again.

It's amazing how quickly this discussion has spun around, away from the accountability of an entrepreneur, to the investor's intention.

Speaking from an entrepreneur's point of view, if my investor has ANY concerns I'd be straight on the phone to work through the problems with them. Investor's aren't only there for the money, but also the advice. I find it strange that Nik wouldn't involve Clay, and just as strange that he would use RWW as a platform for a response (no offense Richard). I'd expect him to contact Clay as soon as there was any concern.

As for Clay, I've spent a good deal of time with him, and want to say that he is a very astute business man. He is also VERY approachable. This issue with Omnidrive has not come about because of him.

I think Mick's idea is a great one. Lets get this whole thing out in the open, so the Aussie web community can clear the air over this one.

Re: The future of TV is not on TV

I agree. Broadcast hasn't got long. With digital set top boxes, broadband, and powerful handheld devices I think they really need to start to think through different strategies: like portability.

One of my favorite apps at the moment is Elgato's EyeTV! I record a show and it automatically encodes it so I can watch it on my Apple TV or iPod Touch.

My other favorite app is Bittorrent. ;)

Re: Your ad-supported Web 2.0 site is actually a B2B enterprise in disguise

Great post.

Rheingold's story sounds a lot like the one we had with Scouta. We built out our social network first, and then launched out B2B offering.

It's surprising how many web companies don't realize that you still need to focus most of your energy on traditional business values. Sales being a very important one. Although I'm CEO of the company, I spent almost all of my time as if I was a traditional sales person.

Re: Feedback on scouta.com redesign mockup

Wow, awesome feedback. You seem to suggest that they get paid every time you click a link, which I just don't see on Mahalo. The links I've clicked when using Mahalo have been internal, or those that appear to be unpaid links, not adverts. I'm sure they make money from some obvious adverts, like other sites.

So, the reason I think your argument isn't valid is that every prominent search engine makes money from clicks. We can't complain that people make money, we all need it to continue running the business.

So, your rational would suggest all prominent search engines are reckless.
