Lovely industrial design, but let down substantially not by the lack of Wi-Fi, which has had all the press, but instead by the quality of the touch-operating system...."

http://ribot.co.uk/index.ph...

Re: Twitter ends free SMS updates for Europe

It may be true that many migrate back to using the web when twitter traffic gets too high, but what about direct messaging (DM)? DM was an integral feature for my social group and I no longer know how useful twitter will be as a social tool. For me, it may just become my feed reader of sorts.

As for North America, don't twitter make money on every SMS sent over there?

Re: 3UK data ‘fair use’ policy problem

I just received a txt from 3 at 14:30 after downloading a small app. I also find it quite annoying that "data usage" isn't something that one can track via the my3 website. Come on 3! They actually indicate that "Sorry, there is no data usage for this mobile" on my my3 page. Hmm, I think otherwise. I'm going to keep on downloading and using data as per usual.

BTW, thanks to Whatleydude for the link to this article!

Re: How to use Twitter on your iPhone - Paul Walsh, the Irish Opportunist

also, I've just discovered another client: http://twitter.thincloud.com - basic functionality (no favs or active URL links), but simple and has a more twitter-esque look and feel to it.

Note to dev/usability team: on the browse friends page on twitter.thincloud.com don't link to people's external urls, link to their twitter streams!

Re: How to use Twitter on your iPhone - Paul Walsh, the Irish Opportunist

Loving the PocketTweets interface. For me, itweet actually looks a little crude and ugly (it could be so much better with a bit of polish). That said, I'll still be using the trusty m.twitter.com (and even the regular www.twitter.com) as this is the only version that allows the user to see more than the last 20 tweets (a feature which isn't currently possible on third-party sites due to restrictions with the API - they say that paging will soon be made available). Thanks for bringing the other options to our attention.

ribot
