The min/max range values are not distances from the current position (as I expected) but coordinates. The random value for x is also used for the y coordinate for some strange reason.

To prevent the need for all the manual steps relating to terrain data simply use `AssetDatabase.CreateAsset(terrainData, "Assets/Terrain Assets/terrain.asset")`

Regarding lesson #1: I think you'll love http://github.com/Azure/acs... it is the code we use behind the scenes for ACS. Generate your own templates from here. Furthermore, we do our work there So new features land there first (see lesson 3) and (when appropriate) we take pull requests, so if you need something send a PR.

For lesson 3: ACS Engine supports managed disks. See the examples folder.

For lesson 5: Thank you for contributing to the body of knowledge or there :-D

Thanks for your write-up which I think is both well informed and accurate (I'm a member of the ACS team). The good news is that each of the main items (if not all the items) you highlight here will be addressed when we go to General Availability. We have not yet announced a date for this, but we are actively working on it :-)

Sorry about the long delay in replying. You might want to take a look at some of the features in the open source ACS Engine (announced today). One of the features supported is the ability to define multiple agent pools, each of which can have their own Azure LB. This feature will be rolled into a future version of ACS. http://github.com/Azure/acs...

I don't think we will be doing that. We support any service for at least 12 months after it is removed. We don't want to be supporting 1.7 forever.

However, give me a few hours and I'll show you how your workshop participants can deploy 1.7

The honest answer is that it was a way to solve a specific problem for a specific set of customers quickly. The good news is that the API is designed to allow multiple agent pools and, once implemented, you will have full control over multiple public and private pools. You'll see the first stage of this roll out very soon after this response.

The way to achieve this on ACS is no different to how to achieve it on DC/OS (with the exception of opening the Azure LB port). The DC/OS project has an excellent support community at https://dcos.io/community/

This is a problem with your SSH key configuration. By default your keys will be in '~/.ssh`. You need to ensure that they have the right permissions and that they are valid keys. You also need to ensure you are using the correct key. You should not be copying your keys do different locations. Usually when you are prompted for a passphrase when there is none it means that there is a formatting or permissions problem with the key.

Currently the only way to do this is to log into each agent and configure the Docker Engine on that host. The unofficial ACS CLI will help with this, but there is currently supported method for doing this in ACS at this time (it is coming).

Unfortunately, not at this time. You can certainly deallocate the VMs using ARM but unfortunately they do not converge when restarted. This is a known issue and we are exploring solutions. For now the only option is to delete the cluster and rebuild it when needed.
