Always loved this episode and my jaw dropped when I discovered my mate (who was in the real Robot Wars) and was approached for his robot to feature in this episode, but he turned it down (!!!!!?????) at the time he'd never heard of the show and didn't want to associate with anything dodgy.

Re: Book Giveaway: The Enemy Series

Ok here's how it would play out:

I'd get as many tinned beans as possible and live on a barge! I'd be way ahead of the game, while all survivors are running for cover / hiding in locked rooms with the light off, I'd be livin la vida loca on my barge watching the disintegration of society like it's car crash TV. I'd need enough tinned beans to not come back to shore until all zombies have run out of food to eat, whereupon I would triumphantly come back to shore and find something else to eat as I might have gone off beans by then.

Re: jOBS – First clip of Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs

The dialogue was a bit ropey - I guess the film might be dragged down by the weight of the subject. Bada is more midrange market device experience with a high screen to display it on. They should hurry up and announce serious integration with their TVs, that would shake things up for the non-smartphone crowd when upgrading a handset.

Re: Giveaway: Win an iPad WiFi 16GB, thanks to Fuze [Update 2]

It has to be the convenience which puts the user in charge!

Re: Giveaway: Win an iPad WiFi 16GB, thanks to Fuze [Update 2]

It has to be the convenience which puts the user in charge!

Re: Verizon sucks at Photoshop, confuses the Droid X for an iPhone

Three UK did a similar thing a few months ago putting Android OS on Nokia device: http://reyes.posterous.com/...

Re: The ‘Mobile WiFi Challenge’

Be interested to read how you get on. I have been on mobile broadband at home for just over a year (more laziness on my part for not setting up phoneline/broadband package).

I originally used the first MiFi from Three (on the juicy 15gb a month deal) but found that not being able to charge & operate at the same time + too many random dropped connections to be just too much. I switched to the Samsung Wave which I found:

1. Holds the connection longer
2. Charges and operates at the same time
3. Has 1500 mAh battery when on the move.

Don't forget issues around generally not having a landine, can make for awkward red tape situations.

Re: Celebrate Trustive's big news & win pre-paid WiFi accounts! Sounds good. Its time we got some more interesting metrics for twitter and move away from the ol' 'how many followers have you got' mindset. I do though feel people also choose nicknames to preserve a level of uniqueness. They might also steer towards nicknames that encompass a little more what the individual is about. Bob Smith might want to have the nickname 'handle' of LinuxBob rather than BobSmith123 because 122 other Bob Smith's have beaten him to other combinations of his name.

Re: Twitter conference app view

Well I see dabr.co.uk have drawn first blood and added a simple update to their slick web app dabr to provide ofr a twitconf type view.
