I think we can both agree that anyone who is purposefully trying to hurt others online, just for the sake of hurting others, shouldn't be given the time of day.

Unfortunately there's no CAPTCHA equivalent for intent (yet?) so we can't really know who's who. On the receiving end of criticism, mean tends to look meaner, and meaner looks like trolling.

Re: The impending backlash against personal branding

Eric, I think that's less of a personal branding issue and more of an ethics/authenticity issue. I had actually been planning to write on it, but Beth Harte beat me to the punch with a great post here, if you're interested:

http://www.theharteofmarket...

Re: Practice what you preach: Pitchengine misleading customers

Thanks. I would have included that, but it wasn't up yesterday when I wrote this post. Perhaps my 12 hours rule can be changed to a 12 day rule, just so long as you hide behind a technicality and use an emoticon. ;)

I'd like to hear from any paying customers: Is Google News part of the reason you signed up?

Re: My Pitch Log Mashup, Vol. 8

Thanks for the Presskit'n mention. And also for such awesome/straightforward pitching guidelines!

Re: It’s never a good time to rebrand

Thanks! We've definitely seen a better response across the board, not just with women.

Re: It’s never a good time to rebrand

Sure! All feedback is good feedback. Logo designs won't always be accepted by everyone... ask Pepsi!

Re: It’s never a good time to rebrand

That's a bit beyond the scope of this blog, and definitely beyond the scope of my knowledge.

It sounds like something they'd be happy to talk about over at Hacker News. Maybe check for related links there. The design work is a custom job, although Django's templating makes it all work together the way it does.

We also use jQuery, which is a wonderful library for handling common javascript tasks.
