If that's your only example of match fixing, your argument is pretty thin. You spent 80% of your words on something a player said another player heard. A player notoriously skeptical of referees.

Just because your galaxy got a raw deal does not mean the league has a problem. If you wanted to talk about Jermaine Jones last week or Waylon Francis two weeks prior, you might have an article but this one as it stands is one-sided.

1. Why disdain the moderate drinker? Did you even bother to read the linked article, or are you only replying to pass judgement? You yourself state that similar arguments could made about any number of other choices, but you fail to express why drinking and smoking are worse than any of the others. Obese people and handicapped athletes effect the people around them just as much, if not more than moderate smokers/drinkers.

2. I'm not here to dispute the inherent health risks caused by secondhand smoke, but neither is the article. The author is preaching moderation as opposed to, "Quit or die." It's a sound argument, shown irrevocably by the failure of such programs. Drinking, smoking, and narcotics have never lost their allure BECAUSE of the associated taboos. Ms. Bustillos point was essentially this: if you remove the taboo, you remove the allure. In this fashion, she's actually aiming for the same goal as you are.

3. Most importantly to me, though, is your last paragraph. Its a huge civil discourse failure. The validity of someone's opinion isn't indicative of their intelligence or personality. Everyone is wrong about something, sometime(i.e. you, in that paragraph). I'm happy to hear your opinion, and I'm even hopeful to learn something from it. However, if you're going to dismiss my opinion as one of an idiot or jerk from the outset, I can't help but loathe your close-minded stubbornness. And after that, neither of us has much of a chance at learning anything from each other.
