I wouldn't say that it's addressing an opinion that differs from the common sense. At worst, it's identifying that you have a strong opinion that goes against the mainstream consensus and leaning into it a bit. But that's really just taking something you honestly believe and driving it home with an article that creates emotion. That's good opining.

I like a number of Zack Snyder films, including 300, Dawn, and (mostly) Man of Steel. It's deeply frustrating for me to be written off by DCEU stans as a Snyder hater. I stumped for him to direct a Rainbow Six movie back in 2009. (I still kinda want that movie.)
