But that misses a larger point here. We should be asking ourselves why a consumer electronics company is coming out with potentially life saving tools that could help millions while the medical device industry keeps pushing out poorly designed and expensive technology (even compared to an Apple watch) that one needs to engage expensive medical professionals to get today.

Re: Anti-Abortion Activist Says Iowa’s Fetal Heartbeat Bill Didn’t Go Far Enough

It’s just a game to these people.

This is not a "game" to these people. Show up at the scene and ask for paperwork? I really don't think the individual would be in a position to offer that. As a motorcycle owner and a cyclist myself you wouldn't catch me ever without a helmet on the open road (a casual cycling ride around the lake is a different story) but this generally only impacts the individual and should be left to the individual (no matter how stupid they are). Unlike an impaired person plowing their car into a farmers market.

Re: 93-Year-Old Man Foolishly Thinks His Petition Will “Put Prayer Back in Schools”

On the plus side - with all the time he’s taking with this nonsense leaves him little time to do far worse things. To the Conspirators original point - people work in restaurants free all the time. I've done it to help out a friend kick start his restaurant. Which has notoriously low margins to begin with (he is still in business and doing well - and I eat free there when I visit - should that be illegal too?). What you are really asking for is additional regulation to enforce what someone can do with their free time. Which is even worse.

Re: Shabby New Yorker Piece on Chick-fil-A Gives Christians Legit Reason to Cry Foul

Considering that neither "boycott" is having any real impact I'm sure neither corporation really cares.

Re: Shabby New Yorker Piece on Chick-fil-A Gives Christians Legit Reason to Cry Foul

The corporation of Chick Fil A does not have religious beliefs, no matter what the supreme court has to say. The Cathy's don't want to work Sundays? Then they're free not to.

The corporation is owned and controlled but The Cathy's. They can do anything they damn well want to within the bounds of the law and the regulations that govern their business. And there is no evidence whatsoever that they are forcing their employees to do anything but serve customers chicken. They chose to not be open on Sundays. And their employees get Sunday off. That's it. The Cathy's aren't showing up at the doors of their employees and bussing them to church. They aren't shoving bible verses down their throats (unlike a certain burger chain). And by all accounts they treat their employees well.

So my suggestion is to back away from the keyboard and go outside for a bit.

Re: Shabby New Yorker Piece on Chick-fil-A Gives Christians Legit Reason to Cry Foul

It shows that the restaurant chain is a religious organization

No it doesn't. It just shows that the owners of a for-profit corporation has made a decision to make less money by being closed on day out of the week. And by all accounts their employees are treated reasonably well and aren't shoved any religious rhetoric. So your comments are without basis.

Re: Shabby New Yorker Piece on Chick-fil-A Gives Christians Legit Reason to Cry Foul

Are there Bible verses on the Chick-fil-A placemats

I found this amusing as In-N-Out burger (also owned by an evangelical family) DOES have Bible verses on their wrappers (at least the citation anyways).
