Founding a start up just to get acquired by some bigger company doesn't sound really serious (and I doubt that it has ever been RTM's main intention...)
If you develop a web service the main goal should be to make it the best of its kind - I believe it's that simple.
A few ideas, like throwing together a task list app, are definitely not a "killer web application" - so if that has been the only idea behind RTM it wouldn't be worth to waste any comment on it.
From my observations Google has (very often) acquired companies when it saved a lot of development ressources to do so, plus they also try to be as open as possible with their own services/apps (besides a few restrictions - hey they can't just do what they want, even if they're Google...)
No, they don't pay me - and yes, I'm also watching their activities with care - but to build a task list for Gmail IMHO is either not a big deal nor a rip off or even more a slap into RTM's face.

Pandora has just one downside (from my perspective...): it stopped servicing a lot of countries outside the US for legal reasons :(

The "MONTH tab" does *not* show you the exact stats for the "timeframe specified" - as these stats do not update on a particular day of the month - they are "rolling monthly stats" - that's all what NIA says about it.
So, as mentioned above, the most accurate measurement would be to take the overall Explorer value of Sept 1st 00:01:00 UTC and add 300 to it - that's what you need to have at Sept 30th at 23:59:00 UTC.

You would think, but a quick search at Amazon reveals the following order: Digital Fortress, Angels&Demons, Deception Point, Da Vinci. I agree with your ranking though, as
Deception point has made it back on the shelf. I just don't like books were the riddle is solved two-thirds through and the rest is just chase.

True, but isn't the idea behind it, to get on the user's machine? Check out Kottke's entry from today about WebOS. If I can use it via iChat fine, but then it's still an iChat experience and I will prefer Skype for VoIP because it sounds much better...

Yes, sure there is an RSS feed, but like Thomas said, I know that only because my browser detects it. Where can e.g. IE users subscribe? And I am giving him time...:-)

You think so? I might be pushing it, put I'd put SEO in the marketing corner, which of course is invalid because in the end marketing and PR have to be connected and synced as well. SEO does get you attention and awareness, but not 'text', or being talked about. Or not?

I agree about Dave's voice, Morning Coffee Notes was the first ever podcast I listened to, very compelling voice. The nerdTV show is indeed really good. Hey, your son proves the theory that no matter what, you need to have a T-shirt (don't remember if it was Seth Godin or Hugh McLeod who said that) and I am debating whether to link to my German or English blog...

Aber ja (unerschöpfliche Möglichkeiten), aber nein (ängstlich). Angefangen beim flickr-Sudoko bis hin zu Guerilla-Projekten wie z.B. "reshelving" (mal nach Tag reshelving gucken). Das ist ja das tolle, durch die Interaktion von Tags und Visuals sowie der Möglichkeit mit RSS zu abonnieren und Bilder zu kommentieren sind der Kreativität kaum Grenzen gesetzt.
Ich wollte zunächst über die präventiven Aspekte sprechen. Vielleicht kommt als nächstes ein Beitrag zu den kreativen Möglichkeiten.

Very interesting, you're communicationg with your family via blog posts instead of e.mail. Now, I just heard a podcast or read a blogpost a couple of hours back with just that notion, that e.mail is outdated, replaced by blogs and IMing.
