@simon - the fear I have is the handicapping of the "sensible" and what the definition of "sensible" is. For me I think sensible is leveraging it for product feedback and design in order to bring customers better value. Sensible is NOT using it to return higher insurance premiums, design more intrusive ad-units. I wanted to really push the entrepreneurs in the EU ecosystem (many of them close friends) to question and push the limits as far as they can with the users in mind.

In regards to private clouds of data etc. How will end users ever be able to interpret that data if we as entrepreneurs don't learn how to extract it, clearly define it, and put it into a proper consumable presentation layer. I fear this mindset will only hinder the good while the bad actors will continue to exploit this data with blatant disregard for the end user.

Francesco - I'm not saying to disregard feelings on privacy, but that we should rather look at privacy as transactional. Not in order to put more ads in front of faces, but rather use this data to create better products with strong use cases that help people. This should be an acceptable exchange. Instead many of the teams we've talked to (100's) try to avoid leveraging it in a major way. This is hurting their business

Unfortunately or not... This current and not so elder entrepreneurs that I know are not that far from the "reality" this show is "supposed" to betray... I say supposed because many of the angered, the misunderstood, the disenfranchised "us" in this show haven't seen it... by many I mean to say pretty much all, as its speculative.. since it hasn't premiered yet..

The reality is "us" in silicon valley bust our ass, we overcompensate and blow off steam through drinking, and sex, and all kinds of bad "no-no special place" things.

Miss Way, Ben, and Cast are intelligent/talented, and putting it all out there for their "thing". I applaud them for this. The truth is we are all like the products we build Hephestianly flawed and buggy. The people who are upset are either jealous, or so image conscience that they need to give us all a real break...

I applaud them for persuing their dreams, with vigor, and I respect their approach... It sounds pretty "Valley" to me. I hope they are successful.... because hey it will inspire people to go and build and create and is far better than them idolizing those people from "the hills" or "jersey shore"

I think you may still be missing the fact that all these kids are building kick-ass businesses and getting creamed with shitty valuations by the few angels in Berlin and the EU. Cheers to them all for kicking ass "moped.com" and others... But to the Angels that are taking serious advantage... you are all playing a short term gain and as the world gets smaller you'll see you're opportunities disintegrate and rightly so...

I am starting to see these trends for some of the Startups I am interviewing for our upcoming conference. What are some things I could tell these guys to be aware of when presenting to an Angel during these times?
