The first just decided to stop working, and #2's earpiece went dead.

Fortunately for me, I have the theft and damage protection on my policy (which I pay $5 a month for by the way). So when anything happens to it, I bring it in and they either fix it or give me a new one (ok, probably a refurbished one).

This last replacement, I spoke to the Sprint guy a bit about the Pre and asked for his thoughts. He pretty much crystallized my thoughts on the device.

It's a cool phone. The interface is really top notch (better than the iPhone/Touch in my opinion), the actual phone reception/call strength is better than the iPhone, but the phones....just....break...down. He actually called them the "Palm Assassin", as he sees more Pre's brought in for repairs than just about any other device in their store.

The limited apps are "meh", but they're just ansillary, just window dressing. Nothing really to make the Pre a go-to device, especially over the iPhone's kick butt apps, as well as the Android's initial geek buzz. It's just kind of sitting there, which never what you want in a "cutting edge device".

I initially thought Palm had really hit one out of the park on this one. But now, not so much.

Re: http://mediaviewer.tumblr.com/post/407197969

I would agree with that, although Alfred Hitchcock had quite a career making suspense thrillers. The key for M. Night is a good story translated into a good screenplay.

I'm more than will to go repeatedly to see M. Night thrillers, I just need them to be good.... :)

Re: http://technologyviewer.com/post/395333217

Can it not just turn itself off?

Re: http://mediaviewer.tumblr.com/post/380210899

So, just to make sure I'm counting correctly, that would be me and all of my fellow "blogger hack entertainment writer wannabes"??? :P

In looking up the term "reboot", I find you are exactly correct in the usage and I am wrong. Reboot is separate from "remake", and I was intertwining them.

However, in looking further, what Superman Returns (2006) really was was a "reimagining", and not a reboot at all.

A reimagining is a "remake that does not closely follow the original, yet often contains tongue in cheek references to the original". Examples of reimaginings would be "Ocean's 11", "Battlestar Galactica", and "Planet of the Apes" (1968 version vs. 2004), and of course, "Superman Returns".

Apologies to you and all of the word lawyers out there for my misnomer. I will endeavor to do better in the future.

Consider this talkback REBOOTED!!!! ;)

Re: http://mediaviewer.tumblr.com/post/380210899

I would agree with you there. Any new Superman movie should start mid-stream. We don't need a rehashing. I wouldn't mind references to his origins though, especially relationships with his father. At its core, the Superman mythos is about a son's efforts to live up to the hurculean expectations of a father, loving though he may be. Allow me to indulge my inner geek....

Jor-El purposefully sent his son to a Yellow-sun planet knowing he would be stronger, faster, etc. He sent him to serve as savior and protector, a role he himself was unable to fulfill as scientist on Krypton. A father who perhaps believes Kal-El's on thoughts, desires, and dreams are mostly afterthought when compared to his primary mission of protecting the people of Earth.

Yikes!!! I am WAYYYYYY off the topic and your comment. I just can't resist talking about Superman, or comic book heroes in general. Forgive my digression.
